034. PLAN TO SAVE ROCKET

Chapter thirty four

"Plan to save Rocket." 

Making it to the Orgoscope or better known or Orgocope HQ, Atara had her hood on as she walked with Peter, Mantis and Drax down the hallway "it's big formed. Instead of being built it's grown from living matter. The structure is surrounded by three impenetrable plasmic security shields. It's not gonna be easy to break into his place, Star lord." Nebula shared through coms "it doesn't have to be easy. I was a professional thief, remember? I'll jam the signals one at a time." Peter shared, hanging up.

"She calls me Star lord when she's mad at me." Peter shared "she's always mad at everyone." Mantis shared, turning the key in the mechanism "she's not mad at you. She's mad at me. If I hadn't yelled at Rocket. Rocket wouldn't have been.." Atara told them, looking at her gloved hands that had Rockets dried blood on them, she grabbed the cartridge and handed it to Peter "Atara.." Peter told her "it's okay. He's your father." Mantis told her, as Atara shook her head "it's not okay. Anytime I was in danger Rocket always came after me, it's my turn now." she shared.

"You want a zarg nut?" Drax asked her "no." Atara told him, as the machine beeped, Atara took the card out of it and turned putting it back into the glowing yellow machine where it turned green "first shield set." Peter told Nebula, where they sent it off "three, two, one." Nebula said, as they went through the first one, they then walked to the second one "Atara, I've never seen you wear this outfit before." Mantis shared, turning the key "that's because this isn't Atara. This is Red. A thieving killing machine." Drax shared.

"No, no, that's not who she is right now, right Atara?" Peter asked her, as Atara took the card out of the yellow compartment and turned handing it to Peter who charged it but looked at her with wide eyes "Atara?" he asked her, as Atara then took the cartridge back, putting it in turning the yellow to green, she turned walking to the third one "second shield set." Peter told Nebula "three, two, one." Nebula said, as Peter, Mantis and Drax followed Atara "see? Silent treatment. Atara doesn't do that." Drax shared.

As Atara opened the third compartment handing the cartridge to Peter, Peter charged it "how dangerous exactly is Red?" Mantis asked "she punched a man who was taller then her and sent him down to the floor." Drax shared "yeah that same guy then tried to kill her and that's when I saved her from him and you." Peter shared, handing the cartridge back to Atara, Atara put it in turning the light from yellow to green "third shield set." Peter said into coms "three, two, one." Nebula counted off.

"None of this matters." Atara shared, walking off, Peter followed her along with Mantis and Drax "yes it does. You are upset because Rocket is the person who took you in when everyone else in your life had died." Mantis shared as they all stepped into the elevator going up "and now he is.." Mantis said, as Atara turned punching her in the face "whoa!" Peter voiced, holding her back "don't you dare finish that sentence!" Atara yelled at her, as Drax's eyes went wide, as the ship shook, the lights flickered, Peter brought the comes up "why didn't we go through?" he asked.

"We did. It's not the shield." Nebula said, as Atara, Peter, Drax and Mantis went to walk up to her, they saw the ships outside "looks like my contacts arrived." Atara shared, pulling her arms out of Peter's grasp "you contacted them?" Peter asked "hey, guys, you're about to be boarded by the united ravangers. You can surrender and turn over any stuff worth anything and live..or you can die..toats up to you." a recording said.

As portals opened and ravangers began walking throughout the ship, they began to be surrounded "before any of you ugly mongrels start shooting! I made an appointment with someone!" Atara voiced "with who?" one of the ravangers asked "with Gamora." Atara said, as Peter looked to her shocked "what?" he and Nebula asked "you're early." Gamora said, making her way through the ravangers as she stood in front, Atara grunted at her as Gamora grunted back.

Where they all were soon standing around as they were being handed these suits "what are these?" Drax asked "orgocorp uniforms. You're gonna have to wear these to move through the Orgo without attracting attention." the leader of the ravangers shared "this isn't my color." Drax shared, as the leader of the ravangers walked up to him "what did you say?" he asked "it clashes with my eyes." Drax said, as the ravangers laughed "put it on!" the leader of the ravangers voiced.

Atara walked off to change, as Peter followed her "Atara, why haven't you told me you've been in contact with Gamora?' he asked her "because it didn't mean anything." Atara shared, opening the door "let me in there. I don't wanna be trapped out here, I can't.." Peter told her, as Atara let him walk in "Gamora, we are grateful for your help." Mantis shared "oh, I'm not doing this out of the kindness of my heart. I'm doing this for the hundred thousand units Red promised." Gamora shared "you promised her units?" Peter asked her "why are you so nervous all of a sudden?" Atara asked.

"Orgocorp is in possession of some of the most advanced cybernetic IP in the galaxy,  so they're heavily guarded by the deadly orgosentries. Now, I know you don't have documentation to dock, so you're gonna have to get in there on your own. Once in, Gamora is gonna lead you to the records, where maybe you can find the passkey to override the kill switch and help you save the hedgehog. But if you get into trouble, we will not be able to bail you out." the leader of the ravangers shared, as Atara zipped up her suit.
