010. HIRED TO PROTECT BATTERIES

Chapter ten

"Hired to protect batteries." 

It had been a few months since the guardians of the galaxy had become known for saving the galaxy and had been doing a lot more good then bad recently, seeing as they had been being hired by a lot of people to help them out, where right now on the planet Souvereign, it was thundering as they all were standing together amongst a bunch of batteries waiting for the monster that been attacking them to arrive, Atara's hair was in a ponytail and wearing a red body suit, as they all had on these aero rig vests that Rocket made.

"Showtime, a holes!" Peter voiced as the device he held beeped "it will be here any minute." he shared "which will be it's loss." Gamora shared, as her and Atara powered up their blasters, Peter looked to them "I thought you're things were swords and bows?" he asked, as the two looked to him "we've been hired to stop and interdimensional beast..from feeding on those batteries, and we're gonna stop it with a sword and a couple of sticks?" Gamora asked, as Atara chuckled "why does it matter what weapons we use?" she asked.

"It's just, swords and bows were your thing and guns were mine but I guess we're all doing guns now. I just didn't know that." Peter shared, looking away from them, Atara furrowed her brows and stepped toward's him "it's really that big of a deal to you?" she asked, as Peter turned to her "what? No!" he voiced "your lying!" Atara voiced "okay! Maybe I am bothered by it! But come on, ever since you've been going by Atara and even more so princess you've been.." Peter shared, looking her up and down "different." he said.

As Atara furrowed her brows "I haven't been different!" she voiced "yes you have!" Peter voiced "how?" Atara asked "well.." Peter said "I'm finishing this so we can listen to tunes while we work." Rocket shared "how is that a priority?" Drax asked "blame Quill. He's the one who loves music so much." Rocket shared, the two getting Atara and Peter's attention "no, I actually agree with Drax on this. That's hardly important right now." Peter shared "oh, okay. Sure, Quill. It's not like you were just arguing with Red about how she's been, different. When in reality you just can't admit the fact that you find her attractive." Rocket shared.

As Atara raised her brows, looking to Peter "no, no!" Peter voiced, shaking his head "so you think she's ugly?" Rocket asked "Quill, that is very rude to call princess Atara ugly." Drax shared "I didn't!" Peter voiced, as they all then heard the sound of screeching, as they turned seeing baby Groot run in as he roared shoving and punching the baby alien monsters "I am groot." Groot said "they were not looking at you funny." Rocket shared, as a machine beeped rapidly an explosion could be heard.

They all turned seeing a portal opening and the interdimensional monster coming through as it growled, coming toward's them "well, that's intense." Rocket shared, as the monster landed down, Drax yelled as he ran toward's it, Rocket, Peter, Atara and Gamora all flew toward's it, they all began blasting it while Drax tried to stab it, music started playing, the monster then opened it's mouth and blasted them with this colorful light, as they all continued to fight it

Peter then got knocked down by the creatures tale while Atara, Gamora and Rocket stayed flying, shooting the creature, as they flew away from it's mouth and around it, it then followed them, knocking down Peter who had just stood up once again with it's tale

On the streets where once was pity

Drax was then holding onto the creatures tale as he continued getting slammed on the ground by it

Then Gamora and Atara landed on the ground, Gamora shot at it but then a blast of light came toward's them, as the two looked away "this isn't working!" Atara voiced, as her and Gamora looked back, Atara noticed baby Groot "no, we told you if you come here you have to stand away from the fight!" she voiced, as Groot waved at her "hi." Atara and Gamora told him, as the two flew off, Drax then got knocked down, as Atara, Gamora, Peter and Rocket continued shooting at the monster, Drax then rejoined them and as he did, Rocket flew off to Groot but soon came back.

But soon as they all kept fighting the monster, Drax went flying off again, where the music stopped playing, where Atara and Gamora landed down by Drax and Groot shooting the monster "the beast's hide is too thick to be pierced from the outside. I must cut through it from the inside." Drax shared, as Gamora and Atara looked to him "huh?" Gamora asked "yeah, Drax, wait.." Atara told him, as Drax laughed and began running off "Drax!" Atara and Gamora yelled, but he didn't stop, jumping into the air and into the monsters mouth.

Peter took his helmet off as his eyes went wide "what is he doing?" he asked, flying down to them "he said the skin too thick to be pierced from the outside, so he.." Gamora shared "that doesn't make any sense!" Peter voiced "we tried to tell him!" Atara voiced "skin is the same level of thickness from the inside as from the outside!" Peter voiced "we know!" Atara voiced "there is a cut on it's neck." Peter shared, looking away from them "Rocket, get it to look up." he shared, putting his helmet back on as he flew off, him and Rocket began shooting at it again.

Atara threw her blasted down, sticking her hand in her pocket, she spun the wood piece in her hand as her bow an arrow appeared "you cut it open with the sword and get Drax out, I'll shoot it and it'll explode!" she voiced, as Gamora threw down her blaster and pulled out her sword, the monster grabbed onto Peter, spewing it's colorful vomit at him, Gamora ran toward's it and jumped onto it twice, cutting to the cut on it's neck, she dragged her sword down it, where the monster screeched in pain.

Atara grabbed one of her arrows and notched it, shooting it into it's mouth, the creature exploded and as it did, Drax came flying out of it amongst the green goo, where Peter and Rocket landed down on the ground, Drax fell down hard, laughing "yes! I have single handedly..vanquished the beast!" he voiced, laughing, baby Groot threw a tiny rock at him as Drax looked to him "what?" he asked, as Atara rolled her eyes and began walking off.

The others followed her they all stood around, taking off their vests, Atara grabbed her red leather jacket that didn't have a hood, putting it on, Peter looked at her as he put his longer leather jacket on "what are they called again?" Drax asked "anulax batteries." Peter told him "harbulary batteries." Drax said "that's nothing like what I just said." Peter shared, as he began walking off "but they're worth thousands of units apiece..which is why the sovereign hired us to protect them." he shared.

As Atara, Gamora and Drax began following him "careful what you say around these folks. They're easily offended. The cost of transgression is death." Peter shared, as Atara raised her brows "like when you called me ugly?" she asked, walking past him with Gamora "exactly that!" Drax voiced, following after them "I didn't say that!" Peter voiced, following after them.
