Chapter eleven

"Never an easy getaway."

Standing in the throne room, everything was gold including the people "we thank you, guardians, for putting your lives on the line. We could not risk the lives of our own Sovereign citizens. Every citizen is born exactly as designed by the community. Impeccable, both physically and mentally. We control the DNA of our progeny..germinating them in birthing pods." Ayesha shared "I guess I prefer to make people the old fashioned way." Peter shared.

"Well, perhaps someday, you could give me a history lesson..in the archaic ways of our ancestors. For academic purposes." Ayesha shared "I would be honored, yes. In the name of research.." Peter told her, and when he did, Atara felt this strange feeling and she didn't quite understand just like when she was alone with Peter on Knowhere except it felt more like rage, as she couldn't even find it in herself to look at Peter as she crossed her arms

"I think that could be pretty, uh.." Peter said, as he turned and looked at her, seeing the angry look on her face and her arms crossed, he looked back at Ayesha "repulsive. I'm not into that kind of casual.." he said, as Atara huffed, stepping forward "we gave you are services in exchange for something. So the speed in which you bring it depends on the speed it takes for us to leave." she shared, as Ayesha pointed her finger, the sound of the door opening could be heard, as two gold men walked out with a hooded figure, throwing it on the floor, they lifted the hood up revealing Nebula.

Where Nebula turned glaring at Atara and then Gamora who walked up to them "family reunion. Yay." Peter said "I understand princess Atara that she is your friends sister." Ayesha shared "she's worth no more to me than the bounty due for her on Xandar." Gamora shared, grabbing Nebula's arm and pulling her up, Ayesha stood up from her throne "our soldiers apprehended her attempting to steal the batteries. Do with her as you please." she shared, as Gamora turned walking off with Nebula "we thank you, high priestess Ayesha." Atara told her, as she turned to walk off.

Peter, Drax and Rocket moved to follow her "what is your heritage, Mr Quill?" Ayesha asked, as they all stopped and turned around "my mother's from Earth." Peter shared "and your father?" Ayesha asked "he ain't from Missouri. That's all I know." Peter shared "I see it within you. An unorthodox genealogy. A hybrid that seems particularly..reckless." Ayesha shared, as Atara glared at her "you know, they told me you people were conceited douchebags..but that isn't true at all." Rocket shared, winking with his left eye, the crowd gasped.

As a man stepped forward with a blaster "Drax." Atara said, as she turned walking off, Peter turned and followed her as Drax grabbed Rocket's arm and began dragging him "I'm sorry. That was meant to be behind your back." Rocket shared, as Atara sighed, heading out after Gamora and Nebula.

Getting back on the ship, they all were preparing to leave "all right, let's get baldy to Xandar and collect that bounty." Rocket shared from the drivers seat, as music was playing, Atara had changed out of her jacket and bodysuit as she was now wearing a long sleeve red dress, she had taken her hair out of the ponytail, she walked out, seeing Gamora handcuffing Nebula, but what caught her attention was Peter who had no shirt on, she couldn't help but admire him, as he put the grey long sleeve shirt on.

Peter caught her looking as Atara quickly looked away, Peter stepped toward's her "that stuff about my father. Who does she think she is?" he asked "a very conceited high priestess who thinks she can get whatever she wants." Atara shared, turning and looking at him, her eyes went wide realizing how close he was "she shouldn't have said what she did. I know it must've upset you." she shared, as Peter furrowed his brows "it didn't upset me. I just don't know who he is." he told her "okay." Atara told him, turning away from him, hoping he'd go away.
