028. GOING BACK TO BEING JUST THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Chapter twenty eight

"Going back to being just the guardians of the galaxy."

It had been four years, and the guardians were back to doing what they do best, saving the galaxy, although with Thor around it was turning out to be a lot harder seeing as he either wanted to do things himself and almost get them all killed or end up breaking something he wasn't supposed to or even worse not fighting at all.

But the worst part was when he got clingy, where Atara and Peter's relationship was being third wheeled by Thor at all times like when the two were having a private conversation, he'd always appear and ask them what they were talking about. Or when the two were trying to have a nice dinner just the two of them Thor would always pull up a chair and start eating with them, so saying that the two were tired of him was an understatement.

Where on the newest planet they were saving, Atara was shooting arrows along with Drax and Nebula taking out the tiny creatures, Atara turned to Rocket seeing he wasn't shooting "Rocket!" she voiced, as a blaster went by her, she quickly ducked down "what are you doing?" she asked "getting my binoculars back!" Rocket voiced, pulling them out of Groot's mouth "I am groot." Groot said "no! Binoculars are not food!" Atara voiced "you got sap all over it." Rocket shared, as Groot walked off.

"Hello everybody." Thor said as he walked up "well, well, look who it is." Rocket said, as Peter ran over to Atara "how are we doing guys?" Thor asked "horrible! We're all about to die." Drax shared "you said this planet would be a relaxing holiday." Rocket shared, grabbing his blaster "I said it was going to be like a relaxing holiday. But look at that resplendent skyscape. What could be more relaxing then that?" Thor asked "an actual holiday!" Rocket voiced, as Atara popped up shooting one of her arrows "die, booskan scum!" Peter voiced, shooting at them.

The two had taken out the ones in front of them, as Atara huffed "new plan! We leave Thor here and fly off on our ship never to see him again!" she voiced, notching another arrow, she shot it off "I like that plan!" Drax voiced "so do I!" Nebula voiced "I'm starting to agree." Rocket shared "I am groot!" Groot voiced "tell of the time that Thor and his ragtage, motley crew of misfit desperados," Thor shared, walking onto the rock that Atara and Peter were hiding behind "he did not just say that." Atara said.

"Turned the side of battle, and etched their names in history. For the odds may be against us but I'll you this for free.." Thor said "here it comes." Peter said "I'm telling you if he gets all show boatey we just leave." Atara told him "this ends here and now!" Thor voiced, throwing off his robe, he held his hand out and stormbreaker came toward's him, as thunder came down from the sky, they all stood there watching as he flipped off the rock and used stormbreaker to destroy the land speeders the buskan's were driving in.

Then he threw one of them in the air and sent it flying in their direction, where Peter put his arms around Atara but it exploded far behind them "okay we have to get rid of him." Peter shared, as the two stood up along with the others, watching as Thor threw the axe destroying all the buskans that came toward's him, two of them came toward's him as he did a split stopping both their land speeders, he then jumped in the air causing the two to drive into each other and exploded.

Where he then ran toward's the bigger one and jumped in the air, kicking it with his foot it got destroyed, as he then grabbed stormbreaker and flew toward's the temple "oh no." Atara said, as Peter sighed "this is what he does." he shared, as Thor went through the temple that was made of glass with his lightning destroying all the buskans as he then came back, landing down in front of them "well done, everybody. We can collectively take credit for that because we worked as a team." he shared "no we didn't." Atara told him "we used our hearts and our minds to defeat the enemy with minimal loss or damage." Thor shared, as the temple crumbled down behind him "what a class Thor adventure! Hoorah!" Thor voiced.

as Atara turned looking at Peter "we are leaving him, no!" she voiced, turning and walking off to the ship, Groot followed after her along with Mantis, Nebula and Drax, where Peter and Rocket followed after them.

Although, Atara didn't quite get her wish as things only got worse as Thor and his friend Korgue had brought these giants goats into it, which wouldn't stop screaming "I am groot." Groot said "I know the goats are annoying! I will fix it!" Atara yelled "we need to find the damn remote so we can download the distress signal!" Peter yelled "retrace your steps. Where did you put the remote?" Thor asked "one of your goats probably ate it!" Peter voiced "ghost didn't eat the remote. Don't be ridiculous." Thor shared "well, I ain't digging through that crap." Rocket shared.

"I love them!" Drax voiced, as the goat hit into the table, Rocket went flying off of it as Atara caught him "they should live with us forever!" Drax voiced, as Nebula grabbed one of the blasters "I'm putting them down." she shared "me too." Mantis told them "I fully agree!" Atara voiced, turning to Thor "get these goats off our ship before we kill them!" she yelled at him, as Nebula powered up the blaster "get out of our way!" she voiced, as Thor walked up to her "whoa, whoa, whoa." he said, turning the trajectory of the blaster, shooting his friend Korgue as he fell over.

"Korgue, you all right?" Thor asked him "yeah buddy." Korgue told him "all right, everybody just relax. The goats are gonna be fine. If not, we can just use them for meat..." Thor shared, as the screaming stopped "meeting people. Meeting people. They're a great conversation starter." Thor shared, as Atara huffed, stepping around him and to Peter "you found the remote?" she asked him "yeah but it's not working because some idiot forgot to charge it." Peter shared "we can't live like this anymore, Peter." Atara told him "I know." Peter told her "oh, hey, guys." Kraglin said, as they all looked to him.

"Kraglin! You been here this whole time?" Peter asked "yeah, you said to stay with the ship." Kraglin shared "who's..who's your friend?" Atara asked, motioning to the women standing next to him "this is Glenda. We're married." Kraglin shared, as Groot sputtered "I am groot." he said, Peter and Atara walked over to Kraglin "what did we tell you about jumping into new relationships?" Peter asked him "that I shouldn't be doing that." Kraglin shared "yes, because marriage is supposed to be special yet every planet we've been on you've married someone." Atara shared.

"I am groot." Groot said, as he got up the distress signals, Atara and Peter walked over "finally! Alright, here we go. Distress calls." Peter said, moving through them "please help us! The god butcher has found us!" a women voiced "god butcher?" Peter asked, as another distress signal came up "he left them hanging as a warning." a man said, as they saw a picture of people hanging "look at all these gods, murdered." Thor shared, as another distress signal came up "our greatest champions, now laid to waste." a man said.

"The horror." Korgue said "who could've done something like this?' Rocket asked, as they moved to another one "Thor, where are you?" a women asked, as they moved to the next one "wait, wait, wait. What was that? Go back." Thor shared, as Peter moved it back "play that one." Thor told them "Thor, where are you?" a women asked "Sif?" Thor asked "we need you here." Sif shared "my friend is in danger. We must go at once." Thor shared, turning and walking off "start the ship, my friends." he told them.

"I don't know, maybe we should split up. So many people to save, I mean look at all these distress..calls." Peter shared, as Thor looked upset, he headed outside and as he did, Peter looked to Atara "Peter, we might not be able to save these people like you think. The only thing we could possibly do is help them rebuild." Atara shared, as Peter nodded "I know." he told her, leaning down and kissing her on the forehead "I'll go talk to him, you start up the ship." he shared, turning and walking off.

Atara turned and looked at them all "Kraglin lose your wife and start up the ship! Korgue get you and Thor's stuff including those goats off our ship! And let's get ready to go people!" she voiced, where they all headed off the ships with the goats and Thor's stuff, where they all then began heading back on "I'll start the ship." Kraglin said, as he headed up, Rocket and Mantis were there "let's go." Drax said as he walked past Peter and Thor going onto the ship, Nebula then walked past them "hurry up!" she voiced to Peter, walking onto the ship.

Atara then passed Peter and Thor, going onto the ship, they all stood there watching Peter "remember what I told you. You ever feel lost," Peter said, as he looked to Atara "just look into the eyes of the people that you love. They'll tell you exactly who you are." he shared, as Atara smiled at him, Peter smiled back at her "alright, bye." he told her, running toward's them all, he put his arms around Atara, as she laughed, they all began walking toward's the ships console, finding their seats as they then flew off.

Just the guardians like it was always meant to be.
