Chapter 63: Zakariak
Zakariak cursed under his robotic voice. He knew something magical had happened. Some force of good for the forces of good no doubt. But, he had a plan B, in case the heroes came up with some miraculous way to destroy his robot. Zakariak quickly called for Viscount Bryan.
"What is it?" asked the Viscount rather annoyed.
"My robot was destroyed, your grace. Something happened and pine trees pierced through the metal." said Zakariak, realizing he was starting to sound stupid.
"Pine trees? You mean to tell me you ran through pine trees? Is this your idea of a joke Zakariak? Have I wasted precious time asking you to do one simple task?" asked Viscount Bryan as he turned around, his back facing Zakariak.
"N-No! You're grace! It wasn't like that! The trees burst from the ground!" cried Zakariak.
With that, Viscount Bryan instantly turned around and his eyes were wide with surprise. He then stroked his pointy chin and spoke calmly yet menacingly.
"A Wood Sprite did that. Morgana is dead. This can only mean that the son of the Wood Sprite King is alive. The young prince, Firefly. So he's finally come out of hiding. Well, that changes everything." said Viscount Bryan.
"Your highness, I have a plan B. I have called simply to let you know that I changed tactics. I didn't want you to think I was betraying you." said Zakariak.
"I know you have a plan B. What makes you think I asked for your cooperation? Go and do what must be done to make the lives of the villagers impossible. The robot invasion was but the beginning." said Viscount Bryan.
