Chapter 76: Imani and Thomas

Imani was the first to wake up. She found herself in the warm embrace of her beloved, Thomas. She longed to be in his arms for a long time. The last time they were together like this, naked and vulnerable, was when they were declaring their love to one another. But then, Viscount Bryan happened, and he saw to it that Thomas would be banished from Imani's sight. It was a miracle that he never considered killing him. She slowly got up and started to bathe in her tub. Thomas woke up as well and joined her.

"I have a feeling today is going to be very different." said Imani.

"Me too. I have high hopes for a brighter day today." said Thomas.

"Thomas, stay with me." said Imani.

"I'm not going anywhere." said Thomas.

Imani got dressed and put on a new hijab, a wonderful yellow one that symbolized the coming of spring. She even put on an orange dress to go along with her hijab. Thomas on the other hand was given new clothes. A black tank top with a leather coat and a new sword for him. As the two lovers descended from the stairs, the servants in Imani's house bowed their heads. Many of them were pleased to see Thomas by her side, since most of them remembered when he was Imani's childhood sweetheart.

"Sir Thomas. Welcome." said an elderly servant. He bowed his head and Thomas bowed his head in return.

As they both walked towards the front doors, and opened them, The Mothman was there with Ethan by his side. Ethan was wearing a black tank top with a vest that had a moth's fur on his shoulders. His hair was also cut slightly. He looked up and bowed his head while the Mothman greeted Imani and Thomas.

"It is a pleasure to see you two again." he said.

"Imani needed somebody to be by her side. A real man." said Thomas.

"Uriel was a man." mumbled Ethan.

The Mothman turned to see him and Ethan lowered his gaze.

"We need to address the people that everything will be okay and that nothing bad will happen to the village." said Imani.

The Mothman looked at Imani with a sad look on his face. "The Dark Impulse is much stronger than ever. This will take a lot more than to simply address the kingdom my dear." said The Mothman.

"Everything will be fine." said Imani with reassurance.

"I do hope you're right." said the Mothman.

He then walked away with Imani by his side. And when they stepped out, Uriel was stanging next to a couple of bystanders looking onward. Imani and Thomas ignored him and Ethan ran up to greet him. Instead, Uriel pulled Ethan aside fiercly.

"See this as a lesson. Don't ever let another man take what's yours. Don't let your heart be broken because of stupidity like this." he snarled. All Ethan could do was simply nod and agree with Uriel.

The Mothman saw this and walked up to them.

"Uriel. Please." said the Mothman softly. Uriel let go of Ethan's arm and let out a loud sigh.
