Chapter 64: Everybody

Emmet and Joshua checked on Firefly's pulse. They asked for him to remove his shirt and Joshua checked his back.

"Breathing is normal. I suggest you rest up before you do anything else." said Joshua.

"I can still fight." said Firefly flexing a muscle. Emmet blushed and looked away while Joshua shook his head.

"In your condition? No way. Plus, you're the last Wood Sprite. If anything else happens to you, that will mark the end of your species as we know it. In fact, you have to be alive so you can repopulate your people." said Joshua.

"I don't want to be married. I want to stay single forever." said Firefly.

"You see Dad! I'm not the only one who wishes to stay single." said Emmet, although a little hesitantly.

"I respect that. But still... Firefly is it? Rest and take it easy. Doctor's orders. Emmet, you stay in charge of him." said Joshua.

Emmet handed Firefly his shirt and smiled.

"Thank you." said Firefly.

Meanwhile, Uriel was speaking to Sam, Natalie, Thomas, Tyrone and Destiny, who came to meet with them shortly after.

"The shadows have weakened. It seems the trees Firefly summoned from the Earth have Light Impulse properties." said Uriel.

"Light Impulse?" asked Tyrone.

"It's another name for the forces of good my sweet." said Natalie.

"The Dark Impulse has weakened for now, but I can still feel something isn't right." said Sam.

"Zakariak is still inside the robot and we have Sword Warriors going inside as we speak. They will arrest him and take him into custody." said Thomas.

"What about that giant Wendigo Moss? Is he here by any chance?" asked Destiny.

"Moss? Here?" asked Joshua rather frightened.

"Don't worry. Moss won't be able to come and attack either." said Uriel.

"I saw him attack Lucy's family not too long ago. He's gone, but I have a feeling he could be around." said Destiny.

"We'll keep our eyes open. In the meantime, the kids. They can't be here. It's dangerous for them to even be out here." said Uriel.

"We can fight! Let us help!" cried Matt to Uriel. Behind him were his friends. Emmet, Owen, Lucy, and finally Firefly.

"No. You're all too young to fight." said Uriel.

"You saw me up the mountain! You saw me fight shadows too! I'm not afraid!" cried Matt.

"Matt, stand down buddy." said Tyrone.

"No! I won't! Firefly just saved us all. And with him by our side, we'll beat Zakariak and kick him out!" cried Matt.

"Sweetheart, it's too dangerous." said Natalie.

Sam was about to say something when he felt something creep up in his spine. He turned around and put his hands into the air, summoning a force field.

Zakariak appeared, holding a giant ectoplasm gun and fired a toxic looking ooze at the whole group. Thanks to Sam's forcefield, everyone was safe from the ooze. Unfortunately, a young Sword Warrior's foot was caught by the ectoplasm and his foot melted in an instant. All that remained were bones. Zakariak sees this and laughs. He then walked up to the Sword Warrior and kicked him towards the goo, killing him instantly.

Everyone behind the force field screamed curses at Zakariak.

"You monster!" cried Natalie.

Sam then pushed the forcefield towards Zakariak, hitting him up against a tree. When that happened, Firefly made his fingers look spider-like in appearance and blackberry vines sprouted from the earth and he tied Zakariak's body around with it.

Thomas and Uriel pulled out their swords and pointed at Zakariak's face.

"What happened to you?" asked Thomas.

"Like my new body? As the techno wizard, its only fitting that I should be a robot, like my creations." said Zakariak.

"Then we're going to tear you apart." said Uriel.

"Oh sure, go ahead and talk big. You all are together. It's kinda cool to see the chosen ones and their parental figures in one place." said Zakariak.

"You were pardoned. You were given everything. Why did you throw it all way?" asked Thomas.

"Why? Because of power! Viscount Bryan is a visionary! Peace and profit! Imagine what he could do if he were king of Rood Bridge Park! Oh, just imagine! He would create a utopia in his image! All he wants is perfection and order!" cried Zakariak.

"No. He wants to create hell. And have people worship him like a God." said Uriel.

"Of course!" cried Zakariak.

Just then, everyone heard a loud roar and sure enough, Moss appeared and was charging against the group.

Sam and Natalie made a force field to protect the kids while Tyrone and Destiny threw small explosive marbles at Moss. But that didn't stop him. He ran up towards the tree where Zakariak was.

"At last, you're here to save me!" cried Zakariak. Moss got Zakariak's lanky figure from the tree and carried him away.

"Until next time!" he roared. He then ran, carrying the techno wizard off.

"I told you!" cried Destiny.

"Yes, you were right! He was around here!" cried Tyrone.

Uriel cursed under his breath. "We didn't kill him. We should have pierced the swords on his chest."

"I don't think that was going to be possible. He's more robot than man now." said Thomas.

"Yeah! He looks unrecognizable!" cried Joshua.

"He got uglier than I could possibly imagine." said Owen.

"I think this battle is far from over. We need to regroup. I have a feeling this isn't over yet." said Uriel.

"But the kids need to be in a safe space." said Natalie.

"Mom, we can do this!" cried Matt.

"Honey, I don't want you or your friends to get hurt. It's not safe here." said Natalie.

Sam walked up to them and shook his head. "It's okay with me. Matt is tough. And so are his friends. Besides, they need to learn how to fight." said Sam.

"But Sam, they could get hurt." said Natalie.

"I know. I don't want them to get hurt. But they are the chosen ones after all. And with Firefly here, this can only mean that the prophecy is coming true." said Sam.

"Remember, there were two more children that were supposed to be in their group. One of them was going to be a sprite. And Firefly came to them in a moment of need. What if the final friend shows up and joins them soon?" asked Joshua.

"I suppose you're right." said Natalie.
