Today was the day Jeremiah had been waiting for since the first of June. Dustin is finally coming home from science camp. The summer seemed to go by really slowly when Dustin was away. He had been in contact with Dustin while he was away, but it wasn't the same.

So to welcome him home, the party decided to surprise him at his house. They made him a banner, well, Felix made the sign. He wanted to be there but he already had plans with Erica so he told Jeremiah to tell him he said hi.

Jeremiah was standing against the wall between Will and Mike. They were waiting for El to lead Dustin's toys to the living room. Mike gave the signal and they slowly walked behind Dustin as he was looking at his toys. Lucas held the banner and Max counted down from three then they all blew the noisemakers.

It was then that Jeremiah noticed the can of hairspray in his hand. He was going to warn them but it was too late because Dustin turned around screaming and sprayed Lucas right in the eyes, which caused him to scream and Jeremiah to double over with laughter.

Max takes Lucas to the kitchen to rinse the hairspray out of his eyes while the rest of them follow Dustin to his room to show them the stuff he made at camp. Jeremiah could still hear Lucas screaming as they walked into the room.

"I call it... the forever clock. All right? Powered by wind. Very useful in the apocalypse" Dustin says as he picks up a windmill made out of a soda can, popsicle sticks, and bolts and spins it before handing it to Will.

"Then, I give you... The slammer." he picks up a hammer attached to a battery of some sort. He turns it on and moves it more towards El, who backs up behind Mike.

"Pretty neat, huh?" Dustin chuckles as he hands it to Jeremiah.

"Yeah, very cool." Jeremiah replies sincerely as he inspects it

"But this... this is my masterpiece," Dustin states as he grabs his duffle bag and puts it on the floor. They all kneeled in front of it as he opens it.

"I would like you to meet... cerebro," Dustin says with a smile.

"What exactly are we looking at here?" Mike asks with a confused face.

Dustin smiles "An unassembled one-of-a-kind battery-powered radio tower."

"And that fit in your bag?" Jeremiah questions, slightly impressed. To which Dustin smiles even bigger and nods.

"So, it's a... a ham radio," Will says.

"The Cadillac of ham radios. This baby carries a crystal clear connection over vast distances. I'm talking north pole to south. I can talk to my girlfriend whenever and wherever choose." Dustin finishes with a smirk.

"Girlfriend?" Will, Mike, and El say at the same time.

"What!" Jeremiah shouts. He talked to Dustin all summer and not once did he mention having a girlfriend. He gets up to follow the other as they leave the room, Jeremiah moves slower than the others. He's unsure if it's because he didn't have breakfast this morning or because of the bomb Dustin just dropped, but now he feels a little queasy.
