It was a lively day aboard Bulma's birthday cruise, the ship bustling with guests celebrating amidst the gentle sway of the ocean. Trunks, ever curious and adventurous, found himself drawn to a certain guest who had caught his eye — Goten's twin sister, Y/N. She was a shy soul, often seen hiding behind her brother whenever Trunks tried to strike up a conversation.
Y/N clung to Goten's side as they navigated through the festivities, her heart pounding with nervousness whenever Trunks approached. She admired Trunks from afar, intrigued by his confident demeanor and blue hair, but her own shyness held her back from speaking up.
"Come on, Y/N," Goten nudged her gently. "Trunks has been wanting to talk to you all day. Just go say hi!"
Y/N glanced nervously at Trunks, who flashed her a warm smile from across the room. She blushed and quickly hid behind Goten again, murmuring, "I-I don't know what to say."
Goten chuckled, shaking his head. "You're hopeless sometimes, sis. Just go for it. Trunks is nice, I promise."
As the day wore on, a fight between Goku and Lord Beerus above the deck drew the attention of everyone. Y/N, feeling overwhelmed situation, slipped away quietly, hoping to find a quiet spot to gather her thoughts.
She wandered through the ship's maze-like corridors, panic gnawing at her heart. The sounds of the fight echoed in the distance, adding to her anxiety. Soon, she stumbled upon a door marked "Bingo Prize Room," its contents unfamiliar to her.
Inside, rows of colorful prizes greeted her, but the room felt eerie and foreign. She clutched her arms around herself, wishing desperately to find her way back to the safety of familiar faces. Tears welled up in her eyes as fear threatened to overwhelm her.
Panic set in as Y/N tried to find her way back to the main party area. The unfamiliar surroundings made her heart race, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Meanwhile, on the deck above, the fight had ended and Goten and the others noticed Y/N was missing.
"We have to find her," Goku urged, scanning the area. "She couldn't have gone far."
Gohan joined the search for his sister, his worry evident in his voice as he called out her name. "Y/N! Y/N, where are you?"
"She was with me just a minute ago," Goten said, his brow furrowed in concern.
"I'll check the lower decks," Gohan offered, already moving towards the stairs.
"Goten, stay here with Chi-Chi," Goku instructed, his concern evident.
Trunks overheard their conversation and stepped forward. "I can help look for her. She might have gone inside of the ship."
Goku nodded gratefully. "Thanks, Trunks. We'll search this area."
Trunks nodded, making his way into the ship's corridors.
He darted through the ship, calling out Y/N's name as he checked every nook and cranny. Finally, he heard a soft whimper coming from the hallway near the bingo room. He ran around the corner to find Y/N, her eyes wide with fear.
"Y/N! There you are," Trunks exclaimed, relief washing over him as he rushed to her side. "Are you okay? You had us all worried."
Y/N looked up at Trunks, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "I-I got lost. I didn't know where I was." her voice shaky.
Trunks smiled kindly, kneeling down to her level. "It's okay. It happens. I'm just glad we found you."
He offered his hand, and after a moment's hesitation, she took it gratefully.
Trunks led her back through the ship, they talked softly along the way, exchanging stories and sharing moments of laughter that eased Y/N's nerves, until they reached the bustling deck where her family awaited anxiously.
Chi-Chi enveloped Y/N in a tight hug, Chi-Chi let her go but held her at arm's length as she fussed over her, checking for any signs of distress.
"Thank goodness you're alright," Chi-Chi said, her voice trembling with emotion.
Y/N glanced up at Trunks, who gave her a reassuring smile. "I'm okay, Mom," she assured her, feeling grateful for Trunks' help.
Goku ruffled Y/N's hair affectionately. "You gave us quite a scare there, kiddo."
"I'm sorry," Y/N said sincerely, feeling guilty for causing them worry.
"It's okay, Y/N," Gohan chimed in, giving her a supportive pat on the back. "Let's just enjoy the rest of the party."
Goten nodded in agreement. "Yeah, let's get back. We've still got plenty of fun left to have."
Trunks stood nearby, his expression softening as he watched the family reunite.
He had never seen Y/N smile so brightly, her fear replaced with gratitude and warmth. In that moment, he knew he wanted to protect that smile, to be there for her whenever she needed someone.
Later that evening, as the party continued, Trunks found himself gravitating towards the twin sister once more. This time, she didn't shy away as he approached, her eyes reflecting gratitude and newfound trust.
"Thank you, Trunks," she said softly, her voice tinged with lingering vulnerability.
Trunks smiled, feeling a warmth spread through him. "Anytime. I'm glad I could help."
They spent the rest of the evening in each other's company, sharing stories and laughter amidst the festivities.
As the cruise drew to a close and they returned to their respective homes, Trunks couldn't shake the feeling that he had found someone special in Y/N. And Y/N, though still shy around him, felt a warmth and comfort in Trunks' presence that she hadn't experienced before.
Little did they know, their chance encounter on Bulma's birthday cruise would mark the beginning of a beautiful friendship and, perhaps, something more.
