Andre slowly opened his eyes, wincing as a sharp pain shot through his body. He blinked against the dim light, trying to make sense of his surroundings. The room he found himself in was unlike any he had seen before. One side was bathed in a soft, golden light that seemed to emanate from the very walls, while the other side was shrouded in a serene darkness, speckled with what looked like tiny stars.
On the lighter side, a beautiful sun motif decorated the wall, glowing warmly. The bed Andre lay in straddled the line between these two realms, an ethereal blend of day and night. He turned his head and saw Apollo, the god of the sun, sleeping in a chair beside him. Apollo's golden hair fell over his eyes, his usually bright and cheerful demeanor subdued in sleep.
On the darker side, Artemis, the goddess of the hunt and moon, sat in a chair, a book in her lap. Her silver hair shimmered in the starlight, and her eyes, dark as the night sky, were focused on the pages before her. She looked up as Andre stirred, her expression softening with concern.
"Andre," she said, her voice gentle as she placed the book aside and moved to his bedside. "How are you feeling?"
Andre winced again, trying to sit up but feeling too weak. "Sore... and tired," he managed to say, his voice barely a whisper.
Artemis placed a cool hand on his forehead, checking for fever. "You've been through a lot. It's a miracle you survived at all." She glanced over at her brother. "Apollo, wake up. He's awake."
Apollo stirred, rubbing his eyes as he woke. He quickly moved to Andre's side, his face lighting up with relief. "Thank the gods you're okay," he said, his voice filled with genuine concern. "We were so worried."
Andre tried to smile, but it quickly turned into a grimace of pain. "Thank you... both of you."
Artemis gently helped him sit up, arranging pillows behind his back. "You need to rest and heal. We'll take care of everything."
Andre nodded, feeling tears prick at the corners of his eyes. "I don't know how to thank you enough. Zeus... he was..."
Apollo's expression darkened, and he gently placed a reassuring hand on Andre's shoulder. "You don't have to talk about it now. Just focus on getting better."
Artemis nodded in agreement. "We're here for you, Andre. You're safe with us."
Andre looked around the room, taking in the contrasting beauty of Apollo and Artemis' shared space. "This room... it's amazing."
Apollo smiled, his face brightening again. "It's our way of keeping balance. Light and dark, day and night. Just like us."
Artemis nodded. "And right now, we're here to balance you. Rest, Andre. We'll watch over you."
Andre felt a wave of gratitude wash over him as he settled back against the pillows. Despite the pain and the fear, he felt a glimmer of hope for the first time in a long while. With Apollo and Artemis by his side, he knew he wasn't alone.
Later on throughout the day, the tranquility of Apollo and Artemis' room was shattered by the sound of Zeus' thunderous voice echoing through the halls of Mount Olympus. "Andre! Where are you? Come out at once!"
Andre, still weak and in pain, tensed at the sound of Zeus' demand. Apollo, who had been by his side, placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Stay calm. We'll handle this."
Artemis stood, her expression steely. "I'll talk to him. Stay here with Andre."
She walked out of the room, her footsteps firm and determined. As she stepped into the hallway, she saw Zeus approaching, his face twisted with anger and impatience. He stopped when he saw her, his eyes narrowing.
