Hades and Andre entered the throne room, their footsteps echoing in the vast space. Their children, seated together, stood up as their parents approached.
Sebastian was the first to speak. "Father, I wish to rule the Realm of Lost Souls. It's a sad and lonely place, but I think I can bring some peace and order to it. I want to create a library there, a place where the stories of the forgotten can be preserved. Everyone deserves to have their story told, even if they've been forgotten by the living."
Hades nodded, his smile gentle. "That is a noble endeavor, Sebastian."
Evangelia stepped forward next. "I want to rule the Fields of Asphodel. It's a place where souls who led unremarkable lives dwell, and I think it needs someone who can bring beauty and a sense of peace to it. I want to create art that can comfort and inspire the souls there, give them a sense of purpose and tranquility."
Hades's smile widened. "Your art will bring light to those who need it most, Evangelia."
Andy was next, his enthusiasm evident. "I want to manage the Culinary Realm. I want to create dishes that bring people together, that celebrate our heritage and culture."
Hades chuckled softly. "Your culinary skills will surely unite our people, Andy."
Finally, Hayden stepped forward. "I want to rule the Realm of Dreams and Illusions. I want to create spaces where people can find solace and escape from their troubles, much like how my photography captures moments of beauty and emotion."
Hades's eyes sparkled with pride. "Your creativity and vision will provide much-needed comfort to many, Hayden."
One by one, they had shared their dreams and ambitions, and Hades smiled as he listened to them, proud of each and every one of his children. It was then time for Hades to take each of them to their designated realm and declare them the ruler, starting with Sebastian.
Hades and Sebastian crossed the threshold into the Realm of Lost Souls. The air grew colder, carrying whispers of forgotten memories that seemed to echo through the barren landscape. The ground was a mix of ash and gray sand, dotted with skeletal trees whose branches reached out like the fingers of the long-forgotten. Mist swirled around their feet, creating an eerie, dreamlike effect that obscured the distant horizon.
In the heart of the realm stood the old ruined building, a grand but decayed structure. Its once-majestic stone walls were now cracked and overgrown with dark vines. The large, arched windows were shattered, and the remnants of stained glass clung to the frames, casting ghostly colors across the interior. The entrance was framed by crumbling pillars, giving it an imposing yet forlorn presence.
Sebastian looked at the building, his eyes lighting up with inspiration. "This will be the library," he said, his voice filled with determination. "I'll start by clearing away the rubble and repairing the walls. We'll need strong, sturdy stones to restore the structure. The windows will be replaced with new, clear glass to let in the light, and the vines can be trained to grow in beautiful patterns rather than overtaking the building."
He pointed towards the interior. "Inside, we'll have rows and rows of wooden shelves, each carved with intricate designs. The shelves will be filled with books, each one telling the story of a lost soul. We'll have sections for different eras, different cultures, and even different emotions. People can come here to read and remember, to find solace in the stories of those who came before them."
Sebastian's vision extended beyond just books. "We'll have quiet reading nooks with comfortable chairs and soft lighting. There will be a central area with long tables where groups can gather to share stories and memories. I'll make sure there are plenty of windows to bring in natural light during the day, and at night, we'll have lanterns and candles to create a warm, inviting atmosphere."
