Seven weeks had passed since Hades and Andre exchanged vows and became husband and husband. Their days were filled with love, laughter, and the new rhythm of their married life. The palace was alive with a renewed energy, the staff more cheerful and the once cold, stone halls now echoing with warmth and joy.
This morning, Hades awoke with a purpose. Today was the day he would begin teaching Andre the responsibilities and duties of being a king.
He began his search in the garden, where Andre often spent time admiring the vibrant flowers and lush greenery. Not finding him there, he checked the kitchen, the throne room, and even their bedroom. Each room was empty, and with each step, Hades' curiosity grew.
Finally, he facepalmed himself and called himself an idiot for not realizing where Andre would be. A fond smile tugged at his lips as he made his way to the library, knowing how much Andre loved to spend time there, surrounded by books.
As Hades entered the vast, book-filled room, the scent of old paper and leather bindings filled the air. Sunlight streamed through the large windows, casting a warm glow over the rows of bookshelves. It was a serene and almost magical sight.
He spotted Andre perched on a ladder, carefully stocking new books on the upper shelves. Andre's focus was intense, his brow slightly furrowed in concentration as he arranged the volumes. The scene was serene and picturesque until, suddenly, Andre lost his footing.
In a split second, he began to tumble from the ladder. The books he had been holding scattered around him, pages fluttering like startled birds.
Hades acted on instinct, sprinting over and catching Andre just before he hit the ground. Andre's heart raced as he found himself safely cradled in Hades' strong arms.
Hades smirked, a playful glint in his eyes. "Guess you really fell for me, huh?" he teased.
Andre groaned, though a smile tugged at his lips. "You're so annoying," he replied in a joking manner, rolling his eyes.
Hades chuckled, setting Andre gently back on his feet. "You know, you could have just asked for my help instead of trying to climb up there yourself."
Andre laughed, brushing off his clothes. "I thought I could handle it. I guess I overestimated my ladder-climbing skills."
"Well, lucky for you, your husband has excellent catching skills," Hades said, still smiling.
Andre looked around at the scattered books and sighed. "I made quite the mess, didn't I?"
"Don't worry about it," Hades said, helping him gather the fallen books. "We can clean it up together."
As they worked side by side, Hades couldn't help but feel grateful for these small moments. Life with Andre was a series of beautiful, unpredictable events, each one more precious than the last.
Once the books were back in their places, Hades turned to Andre, his expression softening. "Are you ready to start learning how to be king?"
Andre looked up at him, his eyes shining with determination and love. "Yes, Hades. I'm ready."
Hades nodded, taking Andre's hand in his. "Then let's do this together."
Hades then led Andre to the throne room. As they entered, the grandeur of the room was overwhelming. The throne room was vast, with high ceilings adorned with intricate carvings of mythological scenes and symbols of power. Massive pillars lined the hall, each one sculpted from dark, polished obsidian and wrapped in golden vines that shimmered in the flickering torchlight. The walls were decorated with rich tapestries depicting the Underworld's history and its rulers.
