CHAPTER SEVEN ! lets set it off.

THE choir begins to sing behind the stands where evie, carlos, jay, and gia are seated. ben makes it to the end of the long passage and ends in front of belle and the king. he kneels infront on the third step and awaits fairy godmother to put the crown on, he smiles softly as she does so. the king takes off the case off from the wand, and belle hands the wand to fairy godmother. she takes it, "do you solemnly swear to govern the peoples of auradon with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign?" she asks ben.
ben nods, "i do solemnly swear," he responds.
"then it is my honor and my joy to bless our new king," she says patting his shoulders with the wand. as she lifts the want up someone takes it from her reach. the entire room gasps.
the wand glitches and sends a beam of light to the west side of the castle. "child what are you doing?" fairy godmother asks jane, who's wielding the malfunctioning wand.
"if you won't make me beautiful, i'll do it myself!" she exclaims. "bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!"
mal rushes over to take the wand from jane. she does so successfully, and the vk's in the stands come rushing down from their seats.
ben steps inbetween mal, the wand, and his parents. "mal, give me the wand."
"stand back," mal says. the vk's come rushing into the bottom floor and behind mal.
"it's okay," ben says.
"ben, i said stand back!" mal exclaims.
"i told you so!" audrey says.
mal turns the wand and herself towards the annoying girl.
"let's go," carlos says, earning a head tilt from raina.
"revenge time," jay reminds.
raina comes out from the group on the side and looks at carlos, "what do you mean let's go?" she asks him. he looks at her and his heart breaks.
"i'm sorry raina. but we have to go," he says avoiding eye contact.
"you really wanna do this?" ben asks.
"we have no choice, ben!" mal responds. "our parents."
"your parents made their choice. now you can make yours," ben states.
