"It smells good. I'll go collect some ferns right outside, we can use as plates." Beatrice murmured, stepping out.

Ominis looked worried for a moment, but eased as Sebastian said, "The wards are there now. She'll be fine."

He stood there by the fire as Sebastian was kneeling and turning the fish slowly, "Both of you."

Both of you?

Sebastian stopped to look at the wizard's head who was tilted in his direction. A lingering expression of vulnerability on his face.

"Both of you? What are you getting at? Is this a game where we say the first words that come to our head? If that's the case then-"

Ominis interrupted him.

"You asked me who I was jealous of." The wizard's tone slipped into one of bemusement and honesty, "It was both of you."

Beatrice walked back in, causing Ominis to immediately switch topics about the ferns she brought in. She smiled at him and then turned to Sebastian with a worried expression.

"Sebastian...? The fish are burning."

Magizoology Tip #16

Magical creatures aren't the only ones that like to be praised.

Beatrice watched as Sebastian let out a flustered curse, saving the fish from being burnt to a crisp. Ominis held a knowing smile on his face, but he didn't say anything. They both took a seat with her feeling very much like the possible pureblood she was as she watched Sebastian cook the fish by the chimney.

"Do you cook often?"

His mood had apparently dampened because he didn't both turning in her direction, "Why would I? There's the Hogwarts Elves."

That didn't deter her. "Who taught you to cook?"

"My Ma." He said shortly.

Beatrice stood back in order to walk around towards the fire and kneel down across from him, "What did-" She stopped short realizing that his face was far too rosy, "Sebastian, are you-"

"-Almost done cooking?" His eyes lifted to meet hers with a glower, "Sure." A confused smile fell on her lips. She flickered between the man in front of her and Ominis and with a raised eyebrow. Sebastian shook his head, looking annoyed and yet he looked faintly amused as well, "I hope you like prehistoric fish."

Ominis tilted his head, "Are you sure it's safe to eat?"

"Filet mignon is off the menu tonight, prat." Sebastian remarked dryly.

He snorted inwardly, "No it's not. There's a giant meat carcass outside."

Beatrice scrunched her nose up, "That doesn't make it sound very enticing."

Ominis chuckled quietly, making her thoughts drift back to the time spent outside. When they finished the wards and he smiled at her work. He'd lifted her chin and praised her. Then they'd walked into the wooden outpost, cheeks flushed, and Sebastian staring suspiciously at them. Suspicious in an interested manner, not angry or spiteful.

Then she'd walked back inside to him almost burning the fish, looking similarly flushed to how she must have been earlier. Which made her think that maybe there was something reawakening between the two with the time being spent together.
