"Honeybea? Sebastian?"

Ominis voice filled her with ice and she placed her hands on Sebastian's torso, pushing him away gently. He moved back, dropping his hand from her throat.

He raised his voice, but Sebastian didn't stop gazing at her the way a predator looked at prey. Hungry. Ravenous. Determined. Calculating. "We're over here, you blind bastard."

Sebastian winked and grabbed the wands still in her hand. He walked towards Ominis, pushing the wizard's wand against his chest, "I'll be inside. Beatrice has agreed to hearing us out. We'll tell her the full story of what happened and she can decide for herself if she wants to hate me too."

Did she agree to something?

Her heart was pounding. Her lips felt strangely light like she was missing something.

"Oh." Ominis nodded and held out his hand towards her, "Then shall we?"

Beatrice smiled and nodded, grabbing onto his outstretched hand silently. Her thoughts were racing inside her head. However, one thing was clear as she squeezed his hand lightly.

Her eyes were different and so was the direction her heart was leading her... Two different directions. She wanted them both. And that was incredibly selfish of her.

Magizoology Tip #17

Forgiveness is a double ended newt. Sometimes an apology hurts more.

Dinner was over and it was late, but the fire was roaring, and none of them felt significantly tired. She sat next to Ominis and across from Sebastian, trying her damndest to forget the almost kiss that was shared between them. She could still feel the ghost of his body pressed against hers, eliciting its own response from her body.

Sebastian sighed, "We smelled smoke in the middle of the night. When we looked outside, flames were shooting from the estate. Suddenly, an icy voice drifted out from somewhere in the smoke. 'Children should be seen and not heard.' A blinding blast followed." His voice hardened and she could hear the rage riddling his voice, "They didn't even give her a chance to run."

Hearing the pain in his voice, Ominis took over. "Anne was cursed. Sebastian spent years trying to figure out how to cure her, but even the healers at St Mungo's weren't able to help her."

"Now you sound like him." Sebastian drawled in a dark, musing tone.

Ominis ignored him, "At the Beginning of our Fifth year, Natalia entered Hogwarts with no prior training on how to use magic, but she was exceptionally strong. We found out that she had the ability to wield ancient magic. There was an old professor at Hogwarts-hundreds of years ago-able to wield the same sort of magic, but she was obsessed with taking people's pain away. However, pain wasn't the only thing she took-she also took all of their emotions, and made students and her own father these lifeless voids. Sebastian wanted Natalia to use her magic, hone her skills, and rid Anne of the curse."

"She wasn't able to...?" Beatrice guessed.

"She didn't try." Sebastian bit out.

Ominis sent him a warning expression with his face slightly poised in his direction, "Natalia didn't want to risk Sebastian losing the last few pieces of Anne he had left and more importantly, Anne didn't want to risk it either. Even in pain, she was happy to have a few joys in life. Spending time with her brother coherently was one of them."
