Ignoring him, Ominis smiled. "Don't believe so." Before she could turn around and leave he asked, "Upstairs, are there rooms available? My friends and I are quite tired having to avoid all the riots around the inner city."

"Dreadful." The woman made a tsk sound, "All because of that preacher, I been telling people, but no one wants to listen to the bar maiden. Luckily a lot of fellows left before things could get worse."

She wanted to ask the woman questions, but wondered if it would be alright-what with her eyes making her stand out. Instead, she nibbled on a bit of cheese; enjoying the flavor on her tongue. Bland fish and eggs hadn't really quelled the hunger pangs-but a hearty meal would.

As if remembering that Ominis had asked her a question about the room situation, the woman continued, "We don't normally rent out rooms-but I can tell the three of you won't cause any trouble. Plus you spent good money here. I can offer you a stay for the night, free of cost."

"That's very kind of you." Ominis beamed a smile.

"There's just one issue." She remarked in a wry tone, "Because we don't rent out rooms, there's not much space."

Sebastian stopped eating and a slow, wicked smile spread across his lips. "There's only one room isn't there?"

"One bed, yes."

This time, he didn't make any attempts to hide his laughter.

Water Sprites are Mischievous and Definitely NOT Harmless

The rest of the day past with easy banter and food to pick at. The stew had been delicious with a sweet taste that hit your tongue and then turned savory. They stopped after a few tins of ale, all of them having rosy cheeks and needing time to sober up before going to rest up stairs.

It'd been looming in the back of her mind. The fact that there were three of them and only one bed. Surely they could transfigure more beds, but using magic while even slightly intoxicated could be disastrous. Would they risk it or was she secretly hoping that they wouldn't? Why was she feeling that way?

Hmm.. It was a moot point to deny it now, wasn't it?

Beatrice had feelings for Ominis. It wouldn't be outrageous to finally admit that she still loved him. Even in the short time they'd been reunited, those feelings were still there. Being betrothed to Ominis had been the pinnacle of her life and they'd both whispered in secret as kids-about leaving their families, but Beatrice would bring her mother.

When she'd died, the engagement had been broken, and Ominis had had to use the Cruciatus Curse on her to save them both... It had left her an empty shell. Only being a researcher had managed to make her feel slightly human.

And then that had been taken away too.

She felt a tap against her forehead and looked up to see both Ominis and Sebastian raising an eyebrow. Sebastian's hand retreated as he'd knocked on her head lightly.

"Did you get lost?" Ominis inquired with a slight smile.

"I've been here the whole time." She said easily, blinking a few times, "What did you say?"
