Other notes: Final oneshot for a while, I'm going to be concentrating on a fanfic based on a recent oneshot, and it's one I don't want to end up only having 3 or so parts cause I lose motivation for it, but there's a few oneshots I've written, that are just awaiting editing, so they'll get posted once my friend has finished editing them for me.

"(Y/n), I do believe I owe you an apology."
I looked up from my brother's hat which was grasped in my hands tightly, at Apollo, "Hm? What are you talking about?"
"This," he responded, removing Clay's space jacket from his shoulders and wrapping it around me, "You should keep this. You had a deeper connection to Clay than I did and it wasn't right for me to run off with one of his most prized possessions and leave you to suffer alone. I hope it can give you some comfort."
I felt tears come to my eyes and I flung myself on him, sobbing onto his shoulder, "T-thank you!" I could feel that he'd frozen up but I later felt him returning the hug, "I-it's okay, (Y/n). Again, I apologise for letting you go through this whole situation alone. I was too caught up in my own feelings to think about how you would feel."
"Do you know what you're going to do now (Y/n)?"
I turned and tilted my head in confusion as I looked at Mr Wright, "Hm?"
"I apologise for saying this so close about the incident, but do you have any plans now?"
I shook my head, "I-I don't know honestly. Clay and I were orphans, and I don't have anywhere else to go now, but," I paused and increased my grip on Clay's old hat, "I'll make sure to keep fighting on!"
Mr Wright bent down to my level, "'Orphans' you say...?"
"Wright, don't be about to ask what I think you're about to ask..."
"Unfortunately, this does not concern you, Edgeworth," Mr Wright replied, tuning back to me "I know it's probably still quite soon, but would you like it if I became your legal guardian?"
I looked up in shock at him, not expecting the question. I took a deep breath, "Really?"
"Yes, I'm sure. I wouldn't be asking if I didn't mean it."
I smiled and wiped the tears, "Then I'd like that. Thank you, Mr Wright... Wait, what should I call you now?"
"You can call me whatever you feel comfortable calling me, (Y/n)," was the response I got and nodded hugging him after he stood up, "Okay," I smiled, "Dad," I muttered so only he could hear.
--------------------------------------
I sighed to myself as I sat on the hill near the space centre, Clay's jacked still over my shoulders, it basically having become my comfort blanket now with how big it was on me. I pulled it closed on me, smiling at the comfort it brought me, knowing that even though Clay was gone, his spirit still remained.
That was when I felt a tap on my shoulder, "(Y/n)?"
I looked up and smiled, my face turning a bit red, "Hey, Pearls."
"A-are you doing okay?"
I nodded, "As well as I can be. It's just hard. I looked up to him so much and now he's gone. Like a candle being blown out. Have you ever had anything like that happen?"
She nodded slightly and sat down next to me, "Kind of, but not as bad as you. My father left when I was really young, and my mother tried to get my cousin, Mystic Maya, thrown in jail because she wanted me to be Kurain Master, so she's in jail now. I was eight at that time. Then Mystic Maya got kidnapped twice, and my aunt got murdered... So..."
"Oh wow. At least we can see things from each other's points of view, but Pearls, I need to tell you something."
"Oh?" She asked, her hair bouncing a bit. I took a deep breath, "Before he was killed, Clay always told me to 'reach for the stars'. When I asked him what he meant he said I would understand in the future, and I was confused, but I understand now," I paused and adjusted my position so I was facing her on my knees as I grasped her hands, "Pearl, I really like you."
She looked at me in shock before hugging me, "I really like you too (Y/n)! I'm glad I know you!"
"No" I spoke breaking off, "I meant, romantically."
Pearl just smiled at me and hugged me again, "I know, I like you that way too!" before she leaned back and kissed me. I blinked and knocked her down into the grass, lying on top of her. We both burst out laughing as I rolled off her, "So.. would you like to be my girlfriend?"
Pearl nodded as we laid there, cloud gazing, "I'd love to be your girlfriend, (Y/n)."
