"(Y/n)!"

I squeaked and turned around from my locker to see my sister running up to me, pulling a boy wearing a yellow hoodie and jeans behind her, "Guess what!"

"What is it, Las?" I asked, bringing my hand to my forehead and I tried to stop the dizziness, I hadn't eaten breakfast that morning and I was starting to regret it.

"So... Remember how you said you were supposed to be getting a new student in your glass today? Well, I randomly bumped into Valant here, and he's your new classmate!"

I nodded, "I see," I then turned my attention to Valant, "Got a fondness for rubber ducks or something?" I asked, referring to the bright yellow of his hoodie. I heard him chuckle, and my face turned slightly pink before I joined in on the laughter, something that was a bad idea as I fainted a few seconds later.

-------------------------

When I woke up, I was in the nurse's office, with Thalassa sitting next to me, "What happened?" I asked, realising where I was.

"You fainted. Did you eat breakfast this morning, (Y/n)?" the nurse asked, walking back into the room. I shook my head and she sighed, "That will be why you fainted then. Here, I'm normally not supposed to give food to students, but we don't want you fainting again today," she spoke, handing me a small croissant. I smiled and took it from her, starting to nibble on it.

"I best be off, I'll let your teacher know where you are, (Y/n). You've got Chemistry, right?"

I nodded and thanked Thalassa as she stood up, leaving the room, the nurse following her, probably to tell her what to say to the Chemistry teacher. That's when I pulled up the sleeve of my uniform and sighed, seeing the words, "Can you play?" still written there, as they had been since I turned thirteen. I sighed and rubbed my thumb over them, wondering when I would meet my soulmate.

-----------------------------

I hummed to myself as I walked through the corridors of the school, doing my prefect rounds over lunch. That's when I heard music coming from one of the music rooms. I knew it was probably bad to sneak listen to someone playing without their permission, but I was drawn to it. I quietly opened the door and watched, realising who it was; Jove Justice. He was in my year, but we'd never spoken due to the little classes we shared. In my trance, I'd failed to notice he'd stopped playing the guitar that was on his lap until he appeared in my face, "Can you play? You look mesmerised." he asked holding the guitar out to me. I snapped from my daze blinking a few times, my gaze flicking to my wrist which had flared up slightly golden, but shook my head, "No. Sorry for intruding, you play amazingly and I couldn't help it."

"It's fine. It's nice to have an audience," Jove chuckled, "Do you want to hear another?"
