This is freaking ridiculous, I thought, staring at myself in the window. My identity had already been revealed by the muscly guy, who introduced himself as 'All Might.' He had pulled my hood off. Considering that I was in an alternate universe in which none of my family existed in, I guessed it didn't matter too much if people knew what I looked like. I traced the outline of my reflection. I looked tired. My short brown hair was stuffed messily into a ponytail and my glasses were crooked. My blue eyes looked dull, almost grey.
I was in an empty room, waiting for someone to come question me. I'd been here for maybe fifteen minutes. I'd debated escaping when I'd still been in the police car. It wouldn't have been too hard to get out of the car, but I'd figured after that, in a world of others like me with superpowers, my odds wouldn't have been the best.
Others like me.
The realization was finally hitting me.
There were other people like me.
People with abilities.
Powers.
Heroes.
"Alrighty," said a portly policewoman, entering the room. She dragged a chair in after her and sat down. "Let's get started. What's your name?"
"Lee Mara."
"Okay. Well, I'll need your guardian's information because we can't question you without their presence."
What should I tell her? Obviously there was no way for her to contact my parents. There was no one I could have them call. I was alone out here.
Unless...
I reached into my pocket, my fingers closing around the piece of paper. Relief crashed over me. Oh, thank God for Inko.
"Here," I said.
"You can call them yourself." The policewoman handed me her phone.
I entered in the number.
"Hello?" Inko's voice said sweetly. "Who's this?"
"H-hey, Ms Inko," I started. "It's me, Mara. Um... I ran into some trouble. I don't know if Izuku told you about the slime monster attack..."
"Oh my goodness! Did you get hurt? Izuku told me there was some vigilante who intervened! Did they harm you? Do you need me to come?"
"Not exactly... Um... I kinda, maybe, was that vigilante?" I whispered.
"You were... Oh!"
"Yeah... um... I'm at the police station right now. There's no way for me to contact my family. C-can you come? They need a guardian..."
