Bakugo's neck was already bruised from the blunt shock of my rescue.

It made me feel a little guilty, but he once he stood up, his eyes shining with an intensity so strong it hurt to look at... I realized it would take a lot more than a knock to the head for this boy who was brimming with strength to give up.

I turned my attention back to the situation; All Might was arguing with Shigaraki, trying to stall or figure out his motives, I wasn't sure. But suddenly, the pale villain's eyes widened with a lustful violence, the wired redness swarming around his pupils like an angry whirlpool, and he was running at us full speed, hands raised to kill.

I took in a sharp breath, knowing it wouldn't be safe to let him get near us. I wasn't sure what his quirk was, but the madness in his stare told me enough; he was the most dangerous person in the room. My eyes flicked over to the others beside me: Izuku, Todoroki, Kirishima, Bakugo. I silently promised myself that I would protect them. This wouldn't pan out like those clawing nightmares I lived through each night where my fingers soaked with the blood from the corpses of all the people I could never save. This time was real. This time I would make it different.  Even if I had to fight Shigaraki bone to bone, I would make it different. But it was hard to be sure of anything when my vision was already blurring from the rattling of spider senses inside my skull.

But the closer the villain came, the air thickening from his mania, the sturdier the boys beside me stood. The firmer their eyes were, the fuller their stances. Bakugo and Izuku were united for once, both calm in the face of the storm, both sure and strong.

With them beside me, I felt myself lean into their strength, their presence a silent reminder that I wasn't alone in this.

And my gaze fell on Bakugo who stood taller than all of them.

Staring into the eyes of death, and yet more alive than any person I'd ever seen.

And that was all I needed to see.

So, I leapt, rushing for Shigaraki, shooting webs that caught both of his arms. Using the momentum from my speed, I shot myself into the air, diving over the villain's head, and with a sharp kick, my foot connected with his face.

He stumbled backwards, and I landed a few feet behind him.

"Young Lee," All Might called to me. "Please stop! I have it under control."

I scoffed. "The blood trailing down your stomach says otherwise. Just let me-"

I froze, a strange feeling coiling up my arm. It felt like pins and needles prickling at my skin before an odd numbness settled into my bones. My head was fuzzy.

I glanced down vaguely at the webs shot from my arms that were still tight around Shigaraki's wrists. The silk thread was vibrating and bits were decaying. Shigaraki's hands were wrapped tightly around the lines, a devious smile spreading across his face.
