"Begin!"
I shot a web, latching on to the top of the doorway. The crowd was swarming toward it, pushing and shoving to get in. The fastest way was over. I swung acrobatically, tucking my legs so no one could grab me.
My spidey senses tingled, warning me of something behind me, so I launched myself into the air, catapulting forward, shooting a web toward a tree.
Fwish!!
Ice crackled as Todoroki shot an unforgiving blast over the entire student body. He slid through them, looking up at me, his expression almost blank.
Almost.
I could see the nervousness burning in his eyes, the secret he was hiding beneath his mask.
Could I tell because I too had a secret?
Or was it just my spider sense?
My blood still boiled every time I thought of what he'd said to Izuku. For all UA's glamor and show, it sure cultivated a negative classroom environment.
Trees lined the walkway, so I was able to continue swinging between them, folding myself carefully to maximize my aerodynamics.
I could hear blasts behind me--both from Bakugo and Aoyama--but I didn't look back, focused on the goal ahead. I would win this. I would.
"Thought you two could trick us like that!?" came an annoyingly high-pitched voice. "Well think again! Here's my special move!"
Mineta pulled his purple orbs off his head, winding up to throw them at us. I prepared to whip him away with a web--
--BAM!
A metallic arm swung into him, throwing him to the ground.
Robots. The ones from the entrance exam.
Todoroki's hand froze over as he swung a blast toward the zero-pointer, immobilizing it. Everyone began to rush under its legs, but a creaking noise sounded as it began to fall over. I leapt onto its peak, pushing off from the surface, firing myself high above Todoroki and webbing another robot to pull myself forward.
I made it past the swarm of zero-pointers. After them, there were no more trees for me to web on. I touched down on the ground, running at top speed. Todoroki wasn't far behind me, and he was gliding on ice, much faster than I could run. I stared back at him, trying to figure out a way to outrun him.
Bzzz!!
My skull itched as my senses activated, alerting me just in time as I tottered over a dropping cliff. Before me was spread a maze of disconnected rocky platforms, tightropes bridging the gaps between them.
I grinned. This would be easy.
I threw myself off the cliff, savoring the feeling of the cool air whipping through my hair. At the last second, before I hit the ground, I shot a web at one of the bridging tightropes and swung forward.
