"The MVP of this match was... Lee!" All Might announced.
I tilted my head slightly at my classmates offering a smile.
"Really?" asked Tsuyu. "She spent most of the match hiding!"
"Hmmm... Well now..." All Might said. "I wonder why? Does anyone know?"
"Yes, Mr. All Might!" The girl with the ponytail raised her hand. "It's because Lee-san adapted most to the setting! Bakugo's actions were completely based on a personal grudge. And, as you mentioned earlier, the large scale attack was foolish. As for Midoriya, his injuries prove that his plan was reckless. In Uraraka, she lacked alertness and was quickly captured. Lee didn't rush off too quickly like Bakugo. She bade her time, making sure to get Uraraka out of the way as fast as possible, knowing Midoriya was too engaged with Bakugo to notice. Afterwards, she carefully watched those two fight, allowing the time to run out, and was observant of Midoriya's final strategy. She noticed that he was aiming to hit the ceiling which would knock the weapon down to their floor. She prevented it swiftly."
I glanced over at Bakugo again. His face was still downturned, his eyes hidden in shadow. What was he thinking? Was he angry at me for stepping in last minute? Or was it something to do with Izuku? Was he frustrated that Izuku never intended to use his quirk against him?
"W-well, that's all true," All Might agreed, nodding at the girl. "However, it might have been better for Lee to capture young Midoriya from behind while he was distracted with Bakugo. That would have ended things faster, but ultimately you're still correct! Now let's move on to the next match!"
Good, I thought. This is a chance to observe everyone's quirks and figure out if anyone has any power that might help me get back home.
The second match ended quickly. Todoroki, the guy with the ice powers was quickly able to freeze his opponents in place.
His scale of attack is crazy, I thought. It's interesting to see the dynamic difference in quirk strengths.
"He's so awesome!"
"He's literally invincible!"
"He didn't even have to fight them!"
It seemed I wasn't the only one shocked. That must mean quirks of this strength are on the rarer side.
I heard a sharp intake of breath, and I realized Bakugo was standing only a few feet away from me. His eyes were wide and focused on the screen, his jaw quivering. I took a step toward him, placing my hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, are you alright?"
All at once, his eyes landed on me and he jerked his arm away.
"I'm fine."
"You don't look fine. Ever since our match you-"
"Leave me the fuck alone. I said I'm fine." He turned away, marching over to a corner on the opposite side of the room.
