16. Extremely Loved

Katsuki sits in the hospital emergency room waiting area with his leg bouncing with anxiety. He's paced the area so much he's sure there's a path burned into the dim white tile from how many laps he's made.

It's been over two hours that Izuku had been taken by ambulance to be treated and checked out after his drowning experience. Katsuki had followed behind in his jeep, flying like a bat of hell to reach the destination with a racing mind of worry and images of his unconscious boyfriend playing on a loop in his head.

His neck is stiff from stress and there's a migraine banging against his skull from worry.

As he sits in the busy waiting area the sound of patients waiting to be seen for various reasons buzzing around him he begins to zone out thinking of just how close he came to losing the male he finally got back after all these years and was able to make an official claim on him now that they both weren't clueless kids playing in the summer sand. Harsh reality begins to crash down around him as his adrenaline fades and emtion takes over. Tears brim and he'll be dammed if he can do anything about it. He now sits with his head down in the back corner of the area while his tears hit the tile.

He's seconds from breaking into a full sob when he hears his name called by the nurse who's come out from the back to get him.

" Mr Katsuki Bakugo?"

His head flys up while he dries his eyes standing quickly to his feet making his way to her.

" Yeah that's me."

She nods with a smile.

" You can come back and see him now, he's been asking for you since he got here."

He feels a sharp ache against his chest knowing Izuku had been asking for him but he had to be kept away until now.

After a walk down a few hospital corridors the nurse reaches an ER room and pulls the certain back.

Katsuki is met by a green eyes and a smile right away even though there's oxygen running through tubes to a perfect nose and an IV of meds is dripping into his arm. There's heart and oxygen monsters both attached to him and a sling around his arm to keep his shoulder stable since it had been dislocated.

The blonde isn't sure if he wants to cry with relief or worry at the sight. As if the nurse can sense his unease she begins to explain.

" I know all of this might look scary Mr Bakugo but most of this is just a precaution. The oxygen is to make it a little easier on his lungs since they went through trauma today, but his breathing and his oxygen levels are very good. He's on an antibiotic drip since there was water in his lungs and we just want to be sure it doesn't turn into infection. The sling of course is because of the dislocation which the doctors successfully put back in place, he'll just need to not use it for a few weeks till he's fully healed. The doctors have already checked him over throughly and he's in pretty good shape considering what happened but we are going to keep him over night just for observation since it was quite the ordeal, he will be released to go home in the morning.",she smiles explaining everything.

The blonde nods feeling a small sense of relief.

" So he's ok though right?", he questions one more time.

" Yes, he's going to be just fine. He just needs to take it easy for a bit. He's also on some pain meds for the shoulder and discomfort to his ribs from the compressions."

Katsuki moves closer to his boyfriend's bed taking a seat beside him. He glances at the nurse.

" Ok. I'll be staying the night with him."

It's a statement, not a question and she can tell by the looks of this intimidating lifeguard he means what he says.

" Very well. I'll leave you two alone. Please let us know if you need anything Mr Midoriya, I'll be back to check on you later.", he says with a nod and smile before leaving .
