Denatus, the meeting of the gods and goddesses held once every three months. Many things are discussed and aliases are given to adventurers that have ranked up. In the week leading up to it, I had decided to rank, or level, up. Hecate was glad as she wanted to be the star of the Denatus but was saddened by the fact that someone leveled up before me and made a big fuss. It was Bell Cranel who leveled up to two in a month while I just took a few days longer. But needless to say, we both garnered attention in various ways.
I won't get into it, but it was annoying. But since then I've been busy. I've been leaning into my magic studies and experiences, trying to perfect my methods before I leveled up and after I did, I retried my methods and fixed what I found with them. But speaking of the level up, I had four development abilities to choose from. They were: [Mage], [Mystery], [Warrior], and [Magic Swordsmen].
With [Mage], it improves power, widens effect range, makes mana usage efficient, and creates a magic circle under the user that supports the magic used. It also grants the user a magic stat comparable to that of a person of the next level. [Mystery], allows the user to activate a miracle and create magic items as well as makes mana more efficient. For [Warrior], it was a strength and endurance booster while making the owner more proficient with weapons. [Magic Warrier] was just [Warrior] with benefits more to magic than weapon proficiency.
I chose to go with [Mystery] as it would allow me to enchant weapons and use alchemy more easily. Hecate was all for it because less than five people, not counting me, had it. Well, that was known. I was sure since this world was bigger than the novel or manga, I could hazard a guess that there were more players out there than what was known.
Anyway, with my level up out of the way, I was afraid of what the Denatus would give me as a nickname. They had a nasty habit of giving embarrassing nicknames to adventurers. For example, Fighting Fighter or if cannon went as normal, Bell's nickname would be Little Rookie. I couldn't do anything about it so I just studied and experimented.
With the issue of my weapons, I decided to take Hephaestus's idea for the bones and feathers from the Slaughterbird and make them into a dagger and armor. I've tested the bones and they were extremely durable. As for the feathers, while they were unprocessed, they held amazing flexibility and sharpness. Since I decided to use the bones as armor, I made gauntlets and shin guards out of them. While they were bone-white, they covered the knuckles, back of the hand, and forearms while being extremely lightweight. As for the shin guards, they covered the shins and were the same as the gauntlets.
As for the feathers, after I fused a few of them with Alchemy into a short dagger with a feather design to test how they performed, was pleased it was as strong as steel and lighter than aluminum. Even after rigorously hacking at random bits of stone and metal, hardly any nicks were on the blade. I was happy with the results, safe to say.
But as I pondered what to do with the leftover bone plates and feathers, I decided to try a small experiment. With the bone plates, I carved a transmutation circle and runes into it and saw how it would prove to be when used. I used the bone plate transmutation circle to fuse the rest of the feathers into one long saber with a feather design. The result didn't use up the circle or bone plate, and only a very minor amount of damage was done to the circle.
I immediately wrote this down in my book as this was a breakthrough in my Alchemy research. Then I pondered what to do with the magic stone of the Slaughterbird.
.
'If the medium for the circle couldn't hold up for the enchanting process, maybe this will?' I thought to myself and tried to infuse my feather dagger with the magic stone.
