I flew backward as a beam impacted about five feet away from me. I tumbled and rolled after hitting the ground. When I came to a stop, I was surrounded by tents and people running around getting medical supplies. I forced myself to sit up, only to find my left leg was angled the wrong way. Groaning and swearing, I forced myself to look around at least and call for help.

I managed to get someone to run over, begin to administer first aid, and give me a potion. As my leg started to mend at a visible rate, the Field Hospital began to be surrounded by monsters. Goblins, Bugbears, Ligerfangs, and many more appeared from the woods. The Field Hospital, while having a standing force to protect it, was quickly beginning to be overrun. Once my leg was mended, I grabbed my saber, which I managed to hold onto, and raced towards the nearest monster to defend the hospital.

I rushed towards a Ligerfang that was about to get a Dwarf that was defending an injured woman. With a bust of speed, I arrived and beheaded it with a mana-enhanced swing. I didn't stay to get thanks as more were coming in droves. I rushed on into the fray, doing the best I could to tide the swarm of monsters.

Minutes went by before we were given a break in the oncoming horde. I did my best to limit the number of casualties we had. But soon we were assaulted by long-range fireballs aimed at those not ready for them. As I dodged out of the way for one heading for me, I watched as a few were set ablaze by them. Without missing a beat, I channeled the little mana I had regained into a spell matrix.

.

"Earthen Walls!" I shouted as I slammed the matrix on the ground.

.

Earthen walls erupted from the ground and defended those that were far too slow to react. I nearly collapsed from the amount of mana I drained from myself to cast the spell. But through sheer willpower, I managed to stay standing. But in my mana-deprived and addled state, I was thrown by a battle boar that escaped my notice.

As I tumbled to the ground, a Bugbear came running at my prone form. When I tried to stand, my knees buckled under my weight. The Bugbear came closer and closer but I was in no condition to get up. But before it could get any closer, a Pallum with a greatsword bigger than she was, speared through it before leaving it to die.

Still addled and mana-deprived, I did my best to stand and fight. But a hand grabbed my arm before I could and pulled me away from the front line. Looking at the culprit, I could make out dark hair before I found myself thrust into the hands of another. I closed my eyes briefly but when I opened my eyes, I saw a Cat person forcing a multicolored potion down my throat.

.

"I'm up,"  I muttered as I finished the elixer that I was force-fed.

.

The cat person didn't even say anything, just handing me my saber and surprisingly my dagger, before forcing me to stand up. As I did, a quick wave of vertigo washed over me before I got moving. I rushed forward towards the nearest enemy while taking in the sight of the battleground. Numerous battles were strewn about and around the Field Hospital area.

I rushed toward the nearest one and helped where I could. And as soon as I finished one battle, I ran to another one. My mind lost track of where and how many battles I fought. But all I knew was that I was on autopilot, letting my body do all the work while my mind rested.

Soon though, I found myself in the area where the Hephaestus Familia was once set up. Once there, I felt my mind come back to me and a plan rapidly formed in my head when I saw one piece of equipment. I quickly grabbed it and dashed back to the Field Hospital.
