A few days passed by in the blink of an eye and I haven't been let go just yet. Ever since I got back from delivering the list to Finn, I've been tasked to do the menial chores around the Hephaestus Family's camp. From gathering wood to sorting the coal by size. I worked from what I could only guess five in the morning to about nine at night with very few breaks during that timeframe. Tsubaki, who had been arguing with the Vice-captain about me wasting my talents, did all that she could for me.
Finally, I had enough and drew an Alchemical circle in the dirt before transmuting a shit load of dirt into a charcoal kiln and chopping down a load of trees to make a shitload of charcoal. The people who had been condescending towards me quickly shut up and let me do what I was best at. The Vice-captain, however, took that as an insult while Tsubaki laughed at my antics.
When I asked where the waste disposal site was, I was guided towards a large, deep pit. From there I began to gather all the scrap metal and materials I could get my hands on. I got a few curious looks from the Hephaestus family before they turned into wide-eyed looks when I turned all the material useable. Hell, I even found a deposit of orichalcum buried under it all.
Needless to say, extracted it all and brought it back to camp. When I returned to camp with several bars of Iron, Steel, Orichalcum, and even some Mithril, I was besieged by the camp for the materials. I was even offered by a female dwarf for some fun times if I gave her the Mithril. Tsubaki bonked her on the head. So, being somewhat kind, I left the iron and steel for the camp with some Orichalcum.
When I was finally left alone, I took some paper out and made a transmutation circle. From there, I turned some Orichalcum into a thin plate. Then I engraved it with a transmutation circle before filling it in with the Mithril I gathered. After testing, it had zero degradation to the circle and I was satisfied with my work. Now, I had a permanent transmutation circle on a tablet.
.
"Stunbolt!" I chanted as I shot a stun towards the treeline where I felt some killing intent.
.
A cry sounded out from where I shot it. What came out was a group of Almiraj with red eyes charging at me. What came next was a slaughter as I grabbed my saber and butchered the rabbits. After extracting the magic stones and getting a few drops, I walked over to where I stunned the first creature. It was an Almiraj with a broken horn and its eyes were a dull red.
I remember during Hecate's lessons that [Taming] was a magical skill that could tame monsters. But that was all that I could remember from her lessons. Cursing myself, I tried to remember all that I could before the stun wore off. Then it hit me, Dominance. I had to dominate the Almiraj and break the connection to the Dungeon without killing it.
Since its eyes were a dull red, it was partly there. I then grabbed it by the back of the neck fur and hauled it back to camp. When the camp saw me with an Almiraj, they started to gather and watch. After I got to my tent, I had Tsubaki next to me, curious as to what I was trying to do. Using a bit of alchemy, I made a pit and placed the Almiraj inside.
.
"Please tell me you're not trying to tame it," Tsubaki pleaded as she got the idea.
"I may be an Alchemist, but I'm also a mage," I stated as the stun began to wear off. "And [Taming] in of itself is a magical skill in nature."
"But that ability is notoriously tricky to use!" Tsubaki shouted at me.
"Good thing this is just a test with a low-treat level monster," I said with a shrug. "So if it dies, it dies. No skin off my nose anyway."
