.
"HA!" I shouted as I crushed a goblin's skull with my steel-toed boot in a heel drop.
.
It had been almost three weeks since I arrived in Genkai with Hecate. In these three weeks, I've trained and learned all I could. The first two weeks were spent learning all that Hecate could teach me about the world's magic, with sparse moments of me entering the dungeon to earn a bit of Valis for food and water. The third week was mainly trying out different spell formulas.
Such as:
.
"Stunbolt!" I called out as I thrust my hand out and a bolt of lightning shot from my hand.
.
The subject, a poor and lone goblin, got hit by the bolt and got electrocuted instantly. The goblin was just one of the many, many goblins that came before him as a test subject. With how the goblin died instantly, I knew the power was too much. After all, my goal was to have a long-range stun attack rather than something that made the goblins into charcoal.
I sighed and pulled out the knife I found thrown in the trash, which was rusty and chipped, and began to carve out the magic stone from the dead goblins.
.
"Still too much power," I mumbled as I worked while keeping an ear out for more goblins. "I still need to adjust the amount of mana I put into it."
.
Once I was done with cutting the stones out and watching them puff into smoke, I placed the stones into a small bag that I found in the trash as well. It wasn't in the greatest of shapes but it would do. However, I had to wash it several times to get the smell off of it. After I stood up, another goblin began to emerge from the wall. Even though I was on the fourth floor, it seemed the dungeon didn't give me much breathing room.
I sighed as I waited for the goblin to break from the wall before rushing over to it and curb-stomping its head into the ground. Again, I removed the goblin's magic stone before deciding to call it a day. As I raced back to the entrance, I decided to ignore all the goblins I came across if they weren't in the way. I did crush a few and removed their magic stones before I reached the entrance.
I was slightly winded, but my [Endurance] recovered pretty quickly. The guards standing at the entrance didn't glance at me as they were focused on making sure no monsters came out. I sighed and headed towards the guild. With my backpack in my hands, I began to rummage around in it and started to sort through it.
.
'Let's see, fifteen goblin magic stones, five kobold magic stones, three kobold nails, and four goblin fangs,' I thought as I walked, 'I didn't find any Dungeon Lizards, but I had a good haul.'
.
As I walked, I made sure not to bump into anyone and reached the Guild. Inside, I found Misha manning a counter and walked over to her. In these three weeks, I've come to realize that Misha doesn't like to work and would do the bare minimum to keep her job. But I didn't mind as long as she did her job. We exchanged a few words before I deposited all but five goblin magic stones, leaving them for an experiment. Misha did her job and paid me my earnings before waving me off to get to the next person in line.
I made my way back to the temporary house that Demeter let us rent, avoiding a pickpocket that tried to swipe my coin purse. Thankfully, I noticed them before they could take it. Another thing I learned about this world in my three weeks here, it gives and takes whenever and wherever. I mentally sighed and walked into the house and found Hecate writing a book about magic for her to sell.
