▶︎ Got Me - Dreamville
———————————————————Kamryn
Amari came back from her walk, got Aries' food situated, then washed her hands. Meanwhile, I waited patiently. I kept one hand under my shirt and one hand scrolling through my phone on TikTok while I was leaning against the counter near the fridge.
After that, Amari and I cooked breakfast together while we watched Tiktok's. We made grits, omelets, bacon with brown sugar sprinkled on top, and croissants. Amari handled the grits meanwhile I prepared everything else, but I let Amari sprinkle the sugar over the bacon before I placed them in the oven.
Apart from my grits, I ate my food together like a sandwich, meanwhile Amari kept her entrees separate.
"How is it?" I asked Amari for her opinion on the brown sugar bacon. She had mentioned earlier that it was new for her.
"It's good actually. They kinda go together real bad," she admitted.
"That's because sweet is the best type of food flavor," I explained.
"Who said that?" She asked.
"Me."
"Maybe me isn't wrong, but you're wrong." She side eyes the fridge then looks at me and sizes me. She lucky she cute. "Besides, it depends on what food you're talking," she mumbled before eating her bacon.
I was in the middle of eating a strip of bacon peacefully, and I happened to laugh and swallow at the same time and that didn't go too well. Now, my throat is sore and now I have a runny nose from coughing so much.
Amari quickly came to my rescue with a box full of facial tissue to blow my nose and then she rubbed my back slowly until I got my coughing under control.
"Better?" She asked.
I sniffled intensely with damp nostrils. "Yeah. My fault." I said hoarsely. Damn this shit hurts.
"Kamryn, what are you apologizing for?" Amari questioned.
"Disturbing the peace. Probably ruining your breakfast." I replied in between coughs. I started excessively blinking. I was practically crying at this point.
"I finished. I'm good. Are you good? That was intense," she replied, continuously caressing my back.
"I know. I'm good. Let me go to the bathroom real quick," I stated.
Amari nodded then I excused myself. I tried not to engage my nostrils until I got to the restroom.
After I tried running cold water and splashing it over my face, but over mostly my burning nose, I tricked my brain for a moment and alleviated the burn in my nose. Next, I paused to blow my nose. I spent what felt like no more than ten minutes in the bathroom and walked out with a clear nasal passage.
When I got back to the kitchen island, I saw our two water bottles and an empty counter. Meanwhile, Amari was making something by the stove. I heard a utensil scraping a surface repeatedly.
"You whipping up something?" I asked as I dry coughed and unscrewed the cap on my water bottle.
"Yeah. I made you some tea. It'll help you feel better. You can drink it through the day and it'll stay warm. Hm." Amari handed me an insulated mug with a handle.
Wow. She's so thoughtful. Plus she did a lot of little things in such a short time. I didn't even hear any of this going on.
"Thank you, Princess. You're so sweet."
