Marissa had barely slept that night. Her mind was spinning trying to figure out if she wanted to join their relationship or not. She didn't feel it would be fair to them to say yes if she was just going to leave in a few short months, but could she stay?
The idea of getting into a relationship with people so strongly involved in the underworld felt like a bad idea, especially since she'd spent the past four years running from people in that same world. But also, if anyone was going to have a fighting chance at keeping her safe from Cain, wouldn't it be people who know that world and wield significant power in it?
They all seemed to really care about her, even Logan had come to her rescue when that guy was harassing her at the club. She realized that each of them had wormed their way into her heart during her time with them, and maybe she didn't want that time to end.
It had been four years since she'd left Italy and she hadn't come face to face with Cain or anyone who knew her since she'd landed in the states. Maybe she didn't have to run anymore? Was she willing to take that chance?
Marissa looked at the clock, realizing it was close to time for breakfast. She threw on a tank top and a pair of jean shorts and headed down to the kitchen to start cooking breakfast for them all, still piecing together if and how this all could work.
She went about making breakfast and was nearly done when the three of them all came in together. She could tell they were all fighting the urge to ask her about their proposition which she found really sweet. They really didn't want to pressure her into anything, which meant a lot to her.
They set the table while she brought the food over. No one had really said anything yet other than simple "good mornings" all around, so Marissa decided to break the silence and put them out of their misery.
"So I've been thinking," Marissa said, drawing three pairs of intense, hopeful eyes to her. "I think I'd like to give this a shot, but I have some stipulations." They each nodded, waiting with bated breath to hear what she had to say next.
"If we're going to do this then I can't be in the dark about your .... extracurricular activities. I have a decent understanding of that world and while I don't care to become known in it, nor should I, I don't want any hush hush sneaking around bullshit. If you've gotta go take care of another Billy or make some deal with a seedy character or whatever, just say so."
Logan and Eddie both didn't like the idea of her knowing all their undertakings but there was something about Marissa's demeanor that said she really could handle it.
The three of them all nodded their agreement and then Marissa continued, "second, I'm still not telling you about my past before coming to the states. It's safer for all of us that you don't know that for now. But if that does ever change, and you need to know in order to keep yourselves or me safe, then I'll tell you everything you need to know."
Logan went to say something at that but Fiona silenced him by squeezing his thigh under the table and shooting him a look.
"And finally," Marissa continued, "I'd like to keep this tracking bracelet. I don't know why but it's come to make me feel safe knowing that you all know where I am at all times. I know it's weird but it's true." Marissa paused, looking down at the elegant silver bracelet on her wrist that hid a tracking device inside. "Like if anything ever does happen to me and I can't get out, you'll always be able to find me."
She looked up and her eyes met with Logan's. In his eyes it was like she could see a promise that he would protect her from anything. And it was true. He knew he'd do anything to protect her and keep her safe no matter what it took. He'd burn the world to the ground for her if he had to.
"Deal," Logan said to which the other two quickly agreed. Each of them were smiling like giddy schoolchildren, so happy things had worked out.
Eddie couldn't contain himself anymore as he jumped from his seat and lifted Marissa up out of her chair, holding her tight in his arms as he spun around the room. Marissa couldn't help but laugh at his playfulness and excitement. She caught his face in her hands and placed a soft kiss on his forehead making him blush hard and put her down before his legs gave out, her kiss turning him to putty.
As soon as she was down she was swept up by Fiona, pulling her into a tight hug and kissing her on the cheek which she returned by kissing her on the nose, making her giggle.
Once Fiona let her go she looked over to where Logan was still sat in his chair unsure what to do with himself. He didn't do outward expressions of emotions easily like the other two did.
Seeing his hesitation Marissa walked towards him saying, "there's two, seems I should have one more." Logan stood to hug her but before he could she swiftly pushed him against the wall and pulled him down by his shirt collar to plant a soft yet passionate kiss on his lips.
Logan was frozen in surprise at first but soon he came to and returned her passion with his own. He wrapped his arms around her and picked her up so she was eye level with him, letting her wrap her legs around his waist as her tongue entered his mouth. It was like the rest of the world had disappeared, all that existed was him and his Marissa. She was his, it was written in her kiss clear as a summer's day and his body flooded with happiness at the thought.
He carried her to the kitchen counter, setting her down there before she slowly pulled away. A smile was plastered on both their lips as they caught their breath.
"Aww I wanna makeout with Marissa too," Eddie playfully whined making everyone laugh.
"All in good time sweetie," Marissa said caressing Eddie's cheek. She looked between her three new partners smiling. They were each so different and yet it was like they were each a unique piece of the most beautiful puzzle ever crafted. And they were all hers. She didn't know how she got this lucky or what the future had in store, but fuck was she happy.
