Logan took Marissa to a really nice home improvement store where she was able to pick out a flooring and wall color she really liked for her room. She'd kinda liked a few of the sconces they'd had there but Logan insisted that "kinda liking" them wasn't good enough. He wanted her to love everything that went in her room. He wanted it to be perfect for her, the same way she was perfect for them.
After paying for the paint and flooring they had it loaded into a big suv one of Logan's guys had brought over to be able to take stuff to the house while Marissa and Logan kept shopping.
Logan then took Marissa to a custom lighting company he knew had incredible one of a kind pieces that would fit the aesthetic she was building for her room.
They walked around the showroom together, Marissa holding Logan's hand the whole time, like she had been since they'd left the parking lot after buying her mattress. All of the lights they had there were gorgeous but Logan could tell Marissa was on the hunt for something specific.
And then she found it. Her eyes lit up and she gasped when she saw a stunning black chandelier tucked in one corner. It wasn't really big, but she also didn't really want anything massive anyway. It was black iron that had to have been crafted by hand. It looked like someone had taken a beautiful rose bush, shaped it into a chandelier, and then dipped it in metal. The detailing on it was breathtaking.
Logan wrapped his arms around Marissa and stood behind her as she just stared up at the chandelier. "Beautiful and delicate, yet also strong and unbreakable," Logan whispered sweetly in her ear, "just like you."
Marissa smiled at his sweet compliment. He was so much more relaxed and sweet with her now than he'd used to be when they all first met. Like she'd finally been able to break down that hard facade and see the beautiful caring man behind it.
"Please tell me they have matching sconces," she said making Logan chuckle softly behind her.
"I'm sure they do," Logan said, "and if not then we can custom order them for you."
Marissa turned around in his arms and placed a quick but meaningful kiss on his lips. He was just too wonderful sometimes, she couldn't resist.
Logan bought her the chandelier, and they did happen to have four matching sconces for it so he got those too. After that they went to a few other furniture stores so Marissa could pick out all the different furniture she wanted. They got back in Logan's car and both sighed as the exhaustion of shopping for hours caught up to them.
"Alright," Logan said giving her hand a light squeeze, "I think all that's left is for us to get you a new bedframe and then we're done. And I know exactly where to take you for that." He gave her a knowing smirk and a wink before starting to drive.
They stopped at what seemed to be a rundown old factory that had been converted into lofts and artist space.
"Where are we?" Marissa asked as Logan led her inside.
"You can't buy a bed-frame with hard points just anywhere," Logan said with a light teasing in his voice. He knocked on a door and a gorgeous woman with black hair and dark brown, nearly black, eyes who looked to be in her early-forties opened it to greet them.
"Logan! Perfect timing," the woman exclaimed as she wrapped Logan in a friendly affectionate hug.
"Good to see you Brit. It's been too long," Logan said to the woman before they both turned their attention to Marissa. "This is my new absolutely incredible partner I told you about, Marissa," Logan continued introducing the women to each other. "Marissa, this is Britney. She's probably the closest thing I've got to a sister and she's also one of the most talented dungeon craftsmen in the world."
