Marissa came to and found herself lying on a bed with her wrists tied together and anchored to one of the bed posts. Her whole body ached. She hated getting tazed. It always left her sore for days.
She looked around the room she was being held in. It was a massive plush bedroom. Everything in it was top of the line and clearly expensive. It looked like there was a walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom from what she could see from the bed. The door to the room was closed and, she was guessing, also locked.
She gave a small tug at the ropes on her wrists. Whoever tied them knew what they were doing, but so did she. She took a deep breath in and on the exhale she pushed her thumb out of socket allowing her to slip her hand through freeing it. She'd taught herself to do that years ago, but it had been a while since she'd done it. Fuck it hurt like hell.
She bit down on the rope hard as she readied to put it back in place. That was always the part that hurt the most. Another deep breath and she pushed her thumb until it went back in place with a sickening pop. She held back a scream and focused on her breathing as the pain subsided some. She was getting way too old for this shit. Yes, she was only 24, but still!
Once she'd untied herself from the bed she searched the room looking for her bag or anything she could use as a weapon. Unfortunately she came up empty on both fronts. She went to the door and listened carefully for any signs of people on the other side. It was silent.
She tried the handle, locked. As she started to look for ways to get it open it was as if all her old skills came pouring back. She'd hoped when she left Italy she wouldn't need them anymore. But I guess when you take a job at a club apparently run by some kind of crime bosses this is the kind of shit you have to deal with.
It wasn't long until she got the door unlocked and then she slowly opened it. Outside was a long hallway with stairs at the end leading down to the first floor.
She carefully made her way down the hall as silently as possible. Once she reached the top of the stairs she heard voices arguing so she stopped to listen in. She needed to figure out what she was dealing with, and find her bag, before making a break for it.
Logan was yelling at Fiona and Eddie and a third man whose voice Marissa didn't recognize, Phillip.
"What the hell was she doing there?!" Logan shouted at no one in particular as he paced back and forth in the living room. They had just shown up with an unconscious Marissa who'd apparently been hiding in the club when they took care of Billy.
"I knew she was a fucking spy! I knew it!" Logan shouted in exasperation and anger. "But you two were so caught up wanting to get into her pants that you convinced me she wasn't. And now look where we are! For all we know she's working for Alonso too! Trying to get into our heads and drain us for information to feed back to him so he can take us out. How could I be so stupid! I never should have let her work for us."
He knew he should calm down and that it wasn't their fault this happened. He was just so upset because even he had started to believe that they could be with her, he'd let his heart start to open just a little and now it had all come crashing down.
During Logan's break from shouting Eddie moved towards him to try to comfort him. "Hey, we don't know for sure she's working for Alonso, or that she even got any information to send him if she somehow is. We do know she's never been in the club without us there before tonight, our guys have always been on her every other night keeping watch. She just happened to shake them tonight when she doubled back. And we got to her before she could get anywhere or send up any kind of communication. You checked her phone yourself and so did Phillip. Nothing was sent out tonight, nothing."
