During dinner things seemed to settle back into their usual rhythm, even though Logan's mind was still spinning with how Marissa had made him feel back there in the foyer. They enjoyed their time together and then each went to get ready to head to the club for the night.
Marissa met them in the foyer in her uniform and Eddie teasingly said, "Aww no whip this time?" They all laughed. Marissa smiled as she closed the distance between her and Eddie.
"No whip tonight," she said playfully right before grabbing him by the collar and pulling him down so he was eye level with her, "unless you decide to misbehave." There was power and a challenge in her voice when Marissa looked into Eddie's eyes as she said it that sent a shiver of excitement down Eddie's spine.
"Maybe I'll just have to misbehave then," Eddie teased before stealing a quick kiss from Marissa's lips.
"Not tonight though," Fiona said pulling both of their attention. "You lost that battle to me this morning, remember? Marissa is all mine tonight, right?" She looked at Marissa expectantly.
"That is indeed correct," Marissa said smiling brightly at Fiona and pulling her close against her body. "You won the game fair and square and a promise is a promise. Tonight you're with me. All. Night. Long."
Fiona could feel herself getting hot already. The taste she had this morning had been running through her head all day. She needed more of Marissa, and she couldn't wait to get it.
"We should get going," Logan said in a rather gruff, but still polite voice. Marissa had noticed he'd been a bit more stand-offish than usual tonight. She hoped it didn't have anything to do with her, and that she hadn't upset him earlier with the whip thing. She'd just been being playful, she didn't mean to offend him if she had.
They all piled into the car and took off for the club. Marissa, Fiona, and Eddie were idly chatting while Logan drove in silence. He was lost in his own mind trying to put the pieces together now that Marissa had come along and completely changed the image.
And she had. Marissa coming into their lives changed everything, but as Logan caught her smile in the mirror as they all got out of the car at the club, he knew it was changing to something far better than they'd ever had.
Marissa went inside to find Joanie finishing setting up for the night as it was getting close to opening. "Missed you last night," Joanie said as Marissa got to the bar. "Did you have fun on your date?"
Marissa gave her a smiling side eye. "How did you know I went on a date?"
Joanie just smiled slyly. "I've worked here for years," she replied, "those three are practically family to me. I know when they're into someone and when they called in for you I knew they'd finally gotten up the nerve to ask you out. So," she leaned on the bar getting close to Marissa, "how was it? Who'd you go out with, one or all three? Did they treat you right cause I'll whoop their asses if they didn't."
Marissa laughed and Joanie quickly joined her. She really did love Joanie, she was good people and quickly becoming a dear friend.
"Eddie took me on a motorcycle ride to his favorite spot, which I'm guessing you had a little hand in since you're the only one I told about me riding before," Marissa said eliciting a sly shoulder shrug from Joanie. "And he did treat me right. I had an incredible time. He's really wonderful, they all are. I'm quite happy."
"Good," Joanie said, "it's about time they picked a good woman who can handle all their shit. I'm glad they make you happy. I know you've been making them happy since the day you showed up here."
They kept chatting a bit til the club opened and then it was straight into work-mode. Marissa and Joanie settled into their rhythm and the night went on as it often did.
Not long before closing time, Marissa slipped into the washroom for a quick refresh before finishing out the night. As she was washing her hands she heard the deadbolt on the door click. Realizing she was alone in there with whoever had locked the door that she couldn't see, her body went on high alert, ready for whatever was coming.
Around the corner walked a man Marissa vaguely recognized but she couldn't remember from where. His eyes were filled with rage as he looked at her. Clearly he had a score to settle here.
"Remember me doll face?" He practically spat the words at her. His voice was all it took to bring vivid memories back to her. This was the guy whose face she'd slammed into the vip table when he'd smacked her ass. He did not look like things had gotten put back together right.
"The fuck do you want?" Marissa spat back at him. There were few men in this world she was actually afraid of and this douche was definitely not one of them. She really wished she had a knife on her, though, all she had was her tablet and a pen.
He pulled out a gun and pointed it at her as he got closer and closer. He stopped just outside of arms length from her as an ugly, wicked grin spread across his slightly deformed lips.
"I'm here to pay you back for what you did to me," he said with a vile venom in his voice. "By the time I'm done with you, you'll be so hideous you'll be begging me to touch you again, because no one else ever will."
For an evil villain talk, it could certainly use some work. This guy had no idea who the fuck he was dealing with. She almost felt bad for him. Almost. It had been a while since she'd put her special skills to work, she realized she had kinda missed it. And now here was this macho idiot practically delivering himself on a silver platter for her to absolutely destroy. And no witnesses to be found, all thanks to him.
He went to take a step towards her and she seized the moment. In one fluid motion she swept his feet out from under him, making him slam his head on the sink, and ripped the gun from his hand. The impact with the sink knocked him out for a moment which gave Marissa time to grab his belt and use it to chain him to the pipe below the sink. She took off his shoes and when he came to, she shoved his socks in his mouth so he couldn't scream.
"Silly, silly boy," she said with an evil grin as what just happened, and how he was the one trapped instead of her, dawned on him. "If you're going to try to harm someone, you should really do your research on them first. Maybe make sure they're not the daughter of one of the most brutal crime lords to ever exist. Maybe make sure that she herself isn't known as La Rosa Insanguinata, one of the most feared women in the criminal world." The name she'd made for herself in Italy purred from her lips and it was like she was back there again, ready to destroy whoever dared fuck with her, ready to inflict the most pain they'd ever experienced. "Maybe that'll save you next time. Although... I doubt there will be a next time for you."
Pure terror filled his eyes. She held his leg down and then took her pen and slammed it under his toenail, ripping it off and making him scream into the socks stuffed in his mouth. That's what he got for putting his hands on her and then coming to try to do it again. He was lucky she didn't have a knife, otherwise she would already be peeling his flesh off his bones.
Tearing off his toenails would have to do for now. So she did, one by one, slamming the tip of her now very bloody pen deep under each nail and then leveraging it to tear them off. Tears were streaming down his face as she moved from one foot to the other but she didn't care. He came here to beat and mutilate her, and, knowing his disgusting ass, probably rape her too while he was at it. So she was going to make sure he never laid a finger on another woman ever again.
