This Isn't Like Her

As things were closing down for the night Logan looked out at the floor from his office and realized he didn't see Marissa anywhere. Usually she would still be buzzing around helping everyone wrap up for the night but she was nowhere to be found. He turned around to see Fiona coming in to the office.

"Have you seen Marissa?" Logan asked as he walked towards her.

"No actually," Fiona answered, "I just came up here to see if she was camped out with you. Joanie said she hadn't seen her in a bit which we all know is odd for her."

Panic started to set in as Logan moved towards the door to go start looking for her. Something was wrong he could feel it. He checked the tracking app on his phone and her bracelet showed she was still in the club but not where exactly. "Get security to shut this place down now. I'll get Eddie. We're doing a full sweep of this place, inside and out, no stopping til we find her." Fiona nodded and they both ran downstairs to start the hunt for their girl. If anything had happened to her Logan didn't know what he'd do. He just had to find her. Now.

Security cleared the last few people in the club out fast and Logan, Eddie, and Fiona started looking for Marissa. Each of them were more panicked than they showed or even dared admit to themselves. As they searched high and low for her and kept coming up empty the panic set in more and more.

They got to the door of the women's washroom and when they found it locked Logan didn't bother going to get the keys. He immediately slammed his shoulder into the door, breaking it down.

Inside, they found a bloody Marissa breathing heavily as she choked out an even bloodier and unrecognizable man with a belt before dropping him to the floor. Logan got to her first, sweeping her up in his arms and immediately checking all over for any signs of injury.

"I'm alright, I'm alright," she said calmly trying to catch Logan's eyes as he kept scanning her body. There was real fear written all over his face as he kept searching her. Finally she grabbed Logan's face, forcing him to stop and look in her eyes. "Logan. I'm alright," she said breathing a sigh of relief once he did.

"What the hell happened in here?" Fiona asked coming to join Marissa and Logan with Eddie close behind her.

"This fucker somehow snuck past security and came to try to get some payback for me slamming his face into the vip table a while back," Marissa said gesturing to the dead man on the floor in front of her. "I got his gun away from him but I didn't want to fire it and cause a big commotion for the club so I fought him off. He wasn't able to hurt me. But I do think I'll be needing a new uniform." She laughed and the tension seemed to subside in the room as they laughed with her.

"I'll get right on that," Eddie said with a smile. "I'm just glad you're ok, we all are." He caressed her cheek as Logan set her back down and started unbuttoning his shirt.

"Here, take this," Logan said taking off his shirt and offering it to her, "let's get you out of those bloody clothes and get you home. We'll have someone come take care of this trash."

Marissa turned around and Logan unzipped her dress for her so she could get out of it easier. She wiped her bloody hands off on the dress before sliding her arms into the sleeves of Logan's shirt and buttoning it up.

Marissa turned around and Logan couldn't help himself, he instantly picked her up in his arms and held her close. He couldn't find the words to say, he just needed to have her as close to him as possible. The fact that she'd almost been hurt on his watch, that some lowlife had gotten in and tried to harm his girl, tore him apart.

He hadn't realized he was shaking until Marissa caught his attention. "Logan," she whispered softly as she caressed his cheek, "it's ok. I'm ok. It's gonna take a lot more than some asshole like that to pull me away from you, from all of you."

She kissed his cheek, and snuggled into his bare chest while the other two wrapped them both in their arms. They'd all been terrified something had happened to her. She was a part of them now, and the thought of losing her, they couldn't bear it.

They just stood there a moment holding each other before three soft kisses landed on Marissa's head.

"I'll go call Phillip and get a clean up team over here," Eddie said stepping away from them to make the call.

"I'll make sure this place gets locked down til they get here, and get security to figure out how the hell he got in," Fiona said stepping away to make her own calls.

"We'll go wait in the car," Logan said carrying Marissa in his arms out to the car.

He put her down in the backseat and went to get into the drivers seat when she caught his arm. "Stay here with me," she asked at barely a whisper. The reality of what just happened, of what she did, was starting to settle in. She'd thought that life was behind her and yet here she was again. Seems her old persona was harder to let go of than she thought.

Logan slid into the seat beside her and wrapped her in his arms, holding her close. Soon the warmth of his body coupled with her exhaustion had Marissa drifting off to sleep nestled in his embrace.

"Hey beautiful," Logan whispered softly carrying Marissa inside as she woke up in his arms. "Fiona thought after a nice shower you might like to spend the night down on the big pullout couch with all of us tonight. How's that sound?"

"I'd like that," she said nuzzling deeper into his chest. The fact that Fiona suggested it meant a lot to Marissa. She clearly cared to so easily give up her night alone with Marissa, which she'd fought so hard for that morning, just to make sure Marissa was ok, and probably Logan and Eddie too.

Logan carried Marissa up to her room and ran a shower for her. He waited outside the bathroom door for her while she washed all the blood off of herself. She'd insisted on keeping the door open so Logan could see her and know she was ok (even though she told him it was because she wanted to be able to see him). After her shower she put on one of her long sleep shirts and Logan carried her back downstairs.

Logan put Marissa down on the couch Eddie and Fiona had made it into a giant plush bed for them. As soon as Fiona sat down beside her, Marissa pulled her in close to her and kissed her on the cheek. "Thank you," she whispered in her ear softly.

Fiona placed a kiss on Marissa's cheek in return and then whispered back, "Of course. Besides, this way I can take you on a proper date first."

Marissa smiled and pulled Fiona closer to her. Logan joined them, taking Marissa's other side and pulling them both into him. Eddie then curled up between Marissa's legs, resting his head on her stomach and wrapping his arms around her and Fiona's legs. And just like that, surrounded by people who cared so deeply for her, Marissa drifted off to a blissful sleep having never felt more safe, more cared for, more at peace, than she did in that moment, wrapped in their embrace.
