The next morning they were all still fast asleep in their cuddle pile on the couch when Logan's phone rang. Logan looked at the caller ID and saw it was Phillip. Why would he be calling at 7am on a Saturday? Logan thought as he slid out of the cuddle pile to take the call.
"Phillip?" Logan asked when he answered.
"Sorry to be calling so early boss," Phillip said, "but we have a problem at the warehouse and you all should probably get down here."
"Shit," Logan replied wiping his hand down his face trying to wake himself up. "Alright let me go wake everyone and we'll be right there. I'll call you back in the car and you can give us all the lowdown."
Phillip gave a quick reply and then they hung up. Logan went back to the living room to see Marissa already gently waking up Fiona and Eddie. How does she always know? Logan thought as he realized she knew something was up.
"Sorry loves, but there's apparently a problem at the warehouse," Logan said to a the trio on the couch. "Phillip says we should all get down there pronto."
Eddie and Fiona both quickly got up and went to get dressed to head out, but Marissa hesitated. Was she supposed to stay here or could she go with them too? She definitely wanted to stay close to them if something was wrong, but she still wasn't fully sure how they felt about that.
Logan noticed her hesitation and smiled at her. "You coming too?" He asked with a smile, "cause I'm gonna need my best backup and lucky charm with me to deal with whatever this is."
"If you need me," Marissa said walking up to him, "then I'm there. Always." She gave him a kiss before going to quickly get dressed.
They all met up by Logan's SUV and then headed for the warehouse. On the drive, Phillip filled them in on what was happening.
Apparently some of Alonso's men had tried to break into the warehouse in the wee hours of the morning. They'd thankfully been caught by what was really just a lucky fluke. Three of them had been captured while the rest had died in the fire fight. They needed to figure out how they'd gotten around security, what they were doing there, and what Alonso was planning. The problem was that their usual 'specialist' for getting information from people, Knives, was busy on another task for them. So if they wanted the information they were going to have to get it themselves.
When they got to the warehouse they immediately went to their office to meet a quite stressed looking Phillip who was pacing similarly to how Logan does when he's stressed.
"Hey Phillip," Eddie greeted him, causing him to pause in his pacing. "I don't think you've officially met our partner Marissa yet. Marissa, this is Phillip."
Phillip held his hand out to Marissa so they could shake hands as he said, "Pleasure to meet you Marissa. My apologies it's under these circumstances."
"It's a pleasure to meet you too Phillip," Marissa said to him with a kind smile. "And don't worry about it. I know how much you do for these three, especially with how much I've been taking up their time lately. I'm happy to be here and help any way I can. What's the situation right now?"
Logan, Eddie, and Fiona were all impressed with how Marissa was handling this. It almost seemed like she'd been in a situation like this before. But they could think on that another day. Right now they had bigger things to deal with.
"Well," Phillip said answering Marissa, "we've got two of them in separate ends of holding downstairs so they can't communicate with each other, and the third is waiting in the," he paused for a moment realizing he wasn't sure if he should be blatantly talking about torture in front of Marissa, "the work room up here. It's prepped and all the tools are laid out for whoever wants to go in there."
