I flinch as the door opens and my ankles are untied. A hand grabs my arm and forces me out of the car and onto my feet. I don't struggle as I'm lead somewhere, I can't see anything through the blindfold and I don't have my powers, besides I'm not going anywhere without Henry.
"Where's the other kid? There was meant to be a boy as well as Storm" a voice asks, I think it's a female talking.
"They'll be here any minute" a voice says, this second voice is a man, it comes directly from my right so probably the person grabbing my arm. "Do you want them together or separated?"
"Together" the female says. I force myself to not sigh in relief, I have no idea what I would've done if we were taken to different places, I already feel awful enough that I dragged Henry into this. I have no idea what these people want but I'll do whatever it takes to keep Henry alive and safe.
My arm is yanked on, so I keep walking forward, I hear a beeping sound and then the sound of a door opening, do they have cards that access the doors? It's a good thing to remember for when we try to escape.
I hear multiple footsteps and another beeping sound. "Relax, she's been given the injection, she's harmless" the man grabbing my arm says. The avengers did something to stop my powers when I was first in Stark towers, I never bothered to ask how they did it, I didn't expect to end up in a situation like this. Despite the situation, I feel my lips curling up when he describes me as 'harmless' considering I've been taught how to fight, I'm not entirely useless without my powers.
I flinch as cold hands untie my wrists and my blindfold is pulled out, suddenly I'm pushed into a room and the door is shut behind me. I blink rapidly for a few seconds, adjusting to the light. I glance around, certain I'll see a cell or something similar. I don't. I'm in a bedroom, there's not much in it so I'm assuming it was made for prisoners. There are two single beds on either side of the room, both with white sheets and a white blanket. A brown table is next to the door, it's beginning to peel. The walls are white, and I can see scratch marks on one wall and little indents on another, there's two cups next to a jug of water. There's a red chair next to the end of each bed.
"Storm?" Henry says, getting pushed into the room. He looks okay, his hair is messed up and there's a tear in his top, but he looks unharmed. His face lights up when he sees me and I'm sure mine does too. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, are you?" I ask, Henry nods and walks over to me, glancing around the room and then at me.
"There's all these beeping sounds, I think they've got cards or something that unlock the doors" I say. We've both been taught to be aware of our surroundings so I'm sure Henry noticed the beeping as well.
Henry heads over to a door and opens it, revealing a small bathroom with a shower, sink, and a toilet. I can see two grey towels folded neatly on the ground next to a cup filled with toothbrushes and toothpaste. "No window" Henry says, annoyance and disappointment clear in his voice.
"Nothing matters until we get our powers back" I point out, I'm willing to bet they all have guns, and they'll all shoot us if we try to escape, we can only try to escape if we're absolutely sure we can make it out.
Henry shuts the bathroom door and sits down on the edge of one of the beds. "What do you think they want?"
"Probably for us use our powers to do something for them" I answer, I try to create fire, and nothing happens. I try to create a gust of wind, but nothing happens, our powers are still gone. "I'm really sorry I stopped the car; I feel like everyone I get involved with gets hurt."
"You were just being kind, looking out for others. That's what makes you Storm, it's what made you different compared to everyone else at the x-men institute" Henry shrugs, his green eyes meeting mine. "People aren't getting hurt because of you, they're getting hurt because they've chosen a side in this war that's coming, everyone knows the risks."
He's right, it's getting to the point where people have to start choosing sides, and there's no being in the middle with the x-men, you're either with them or against them. If Magneto does find a way to defeat the avengers, a lot more innocent people will end up dead, too many lives have already been lost.
The door opens and we both stand up as a lady and a man walk in. My heart sinks as a third person walks in. I could recognise Clover's annoyingly perfect blonde hair from a mile away. All three of them have a gun in their hand.
"Picked a great girlfriend, didn't you?" Henry mutters under his breath, I roll my eyes at his comment but don't bother saying anything, he's right. I should never have invited Clover back to Stark towers, I can't believe I gave up myself up to Magneto so that she'd be safe.
"I'm Susan and this is Victor" Susan says, she has medium-length dark hair and green eyes, I think she's in her fifties. Victor looks to be in his forties with a shaved head and a muscular build. "You already know Clover."
"Unfortunately," Henry says, I close my eyes. Does he think this is the appropriate time for a comment like that? They literally have guns.
"What do you want?" I ask, trying to get the conversation back on track. I glance at Clover; she looks shocked and a little upset. Clover meets my gaze and gives me a small shake of her head; she's trying to tell me she didn't know. She fiddles with the ends of her green jumper; I notice a hole in her blue jeans.
"For you to join us" Victor says, his tone warm and welcoming. I glance at Henry who openly rolls his eyes.
"We won't. The x-men have made sure we could resist all kinds of torture so don't bother trying" Henry snaps, his eyes hardening as he looks at Clover. He quickly looks away, like he can't bear the sight of her.
"They tortured you?" Clover asks me, her voice quiet. I cross my arms and look at the ground, trying to convince myself I don't care about the flicker of compassion I saw in Clover's eyes; most people don't like the idea of people getting tortured, it doesn't mean she cares.
"We'll see. I think we'll start with the girl" Susan clicks her fingers, and three men walk in, I step back slightly, I have nowhere to go. Henry is standing in front of me in a flash.
"Don't fucking touch her" Henry growls, I push his arm off and stand next to him.
"No, it's fine. Do whatever you want to me, just please don't touch Henry" I plead, staring at Victor since he seems to have the most compassion.
"Fine, we'll leave the boy alone" Susan decides, the three men all surround Henry, grabbing him and pinning his arms behind his back as he struggles, trying to get to me. "Come on, Storm."
"It's okay" I say to Henry, glancing at him before I follow Susan out of the room, Victor and Clover are right behind us. The door shuts and I close my eyes as I hear Henry screaming my name, I couldn't imagine being in his position right now.
