The next morning, when Li Shuang woke up and saw the little Jin'an she was holding, she felt like she had just had a ridiculous dream. She had dreamt of that frivolous man again. And she had slept with him all night!

Li Shuang rubbed her forehead. It seemed that the next time she went back to the capital, she would really have to ask her father to arrange a marriage for her.

As she absentmindedly held Jin'an, she pondered which young master in the capital could match her, a fearsome woman. He should be courageous enough not to be frightened by her killing, and capable enough to assist her in battles. As for lineage, she didn't care much. After all, there weren't many in the capital who could match her status.

Hmm, in that case, that guy who had offended her that day... seemed like he could also...

Li Shuang was startled by her own thoughts. She coughed a few times and woke Jin'an up.

Jin'an reached out and touched her throat, his voice hoarse from just waking up. "Is your throat hurting?"

"It's fine," Li Shuang sat up. "You've rested for a night. I'm going to the camp now. You take care and train well. Don't be arrogant towards others." It was her plan to keep Jin'an by her side for the rest of her life.

In Li Shuang's eyes, a child with such extraordinary talent could become a danger to the world if not properly taught. Moreover, if she left him in Changfeng Camp and let him grow up there, he could become a great deterrent to foreign enemies.

Jin'an obediently left without further ado.

The following days were peaceful in Changfeng Camp, just like usual.

But when it was time for Li Ting to return home, Li Shuang thought her delicate brother would cry and throw a tantrum before leaving. However, to her surprise, he didn't make a fuss. He simply bid farewell to Li Shuang, reminding her to be careful and promising to come back after winter to visit their father. It seemed that this trip to the northern borders had helped him grow up a bit.

Li Shuang agreed to Li Ting's request and suddenly remembered something. She walked aside and whispered to the old servant who had accompanied Li Ting. Their conversation was too quiet for others to hear, but Li Ting, being mischievous, leaned over and eavesdropped. Then he exclaimed loudly, "A-jie, are you thinking of getting married?"

With his shout, Li Shuang's face turned slightly green. She turned to see that the soldiers who had come to see Li Ting off were all staring straight ahead as if they hadn't heard Li Ting's exclamation at all.

Only the little Jin'an was staring at her intently. Li Shuang turned back and punched Li Ting, saying, "Get lost."

Li Ting touched his nose, knowing he had said the wrong thing in haste. He quickly climbed onto the carriage and before leaving, he repeatedly assured Li Shuang in a low voice, "I will definitely supervise father to find you a tall, handsome, martially skilled, gentle, and obedient man."

"Get lost."

With that, the carriage, carrying the young master of the general's mansion, hurried away without stopping.

Li Shuang turned around and said, "All of you, disperse. Get back to your duties."

She sighed, and all the soldiers quickly dispersed, leaving only Qin Lan behind. He remained as usual, reporting matters to her with lowered brows and eyes, seemingly devoid of any emotion.

That night, with Li Ting gone, the military camp felt somewhat chilly. Li Shuang felt her throat parched and remembered there was a hot spring south of Changfeng Camp near the city of Lu. She decided to ride there alone to soak in the spring and relieve her fatigue.
