Even if there were millions of people, he would still go where he intended to go.

"This man is insane," Luo Teng muttered to himself, tears in his eyes, "This man is insane, he's gone mad for the General."

Qin Lan had been silently watching Jin'an from start to finish, but at this moment, he clenched his fist, drew his sword, and together with the Qinglong Guards, moved towards Jin'an. However, his target was not Jin'an; each of his strikes aimed at the coffin on Jin'an's back.

"Qin Lan!" Luo Teng shouted sharply, "Are you crazy too? The General is inside there!"

Jin'an was determined not to let anyone harm the coffin. He dodged to the side to avoid an attack but was ambushed by a Qinglong Guard behind him. Unfazed by the pain, he thrust his sword backward, pushing away the assailant. Then, he swiftly turned, sweeping the Qinglong Guards beside him. And the coffin opened. Meanwhile, Qin Lan was close by, seemingly driving the blade into Jin'an's abdomen, but only grazing his waistcloth: "She's alive."

Jin'an shuddered.

"Take a good look."

Qin Lan stepped back, leaving Jin'an standing in a pool of blood, lost in a daze. As he scanned the people present, it was evident that the Qinglong Guards were no match for him. Behind Qin Lan, among the group of personal guards, stood a figure slightly shorter than the rest. She was dressed in the attire of an ordinary soldier. Peering through the crowd, she gazed silently at him.

Her eyes were filled with tears, brimming with emotion, yet she suppressed all feelings tightly beneath tightly pursed lips.

Li Shuang...

Li Shuang...

You're still alive.

A sigh escaped his chest in one breath.

Unable to muster any more strength, he collapsed like a mountain, the clothes binding the coffin torn and tattered, finally giving way. The coffin slipped from Jin'an's back, crashing heavily to the ground.

Jin'an knelt on the ground, devoid of any energy to lift his head. He remained silent, as if he had passed out.

He chuckled, raising his head to the sky, and in that moment, all the markings on his face faded away.

How wonderful.

It was indeed a plot.

She didn't die.

With a thud, he fainted to the ground he smiled and closed his eyes.

The surrounding Qinglong Guards cautiously approached, intending to take him away. But just then, thousands of black bugs crawled out from somewhere and pounced straight onto the Qinglong Guards. Everyone was shocked, scrambling to drive them away. Seizing this opportunity, a masked figure seemed to descend from the sky, landing beside Jin'an, and carried him away with lightness skill.

It seemed like the end of a farce.

However, at a moment when no one was paying attention, the slender soldier with half his face obscured by a hat lowered his head, concealing his identity.

Ten days later, in the Nanchang Mountains.

As usual, Li Shuang got up and went to Jin'an's small courtyard. Just as she was about to wring out a towel to wipe his face, she unexpectedly met a pair of dark eyes.

Their gazes met, and Li Shuang was stunned for a moment. She shook the towel in her hand, folded it, and sat beside his bed, gently wiping his face.

"You're awake."
