So Li Shuang returned to Nan Chang Mountain.

It had been two days since Wu Yin brought Jin'an back. His injuries were severe, and he remained unconscious. In his hazy dreams, he repeatedly called out one name — "Li Shuang."

Li Shuang was finally summoned, but he still didn't wake up. Wu Yin said if he didn't wake up today, he might never wake up again. Fortunately, it seemed that fate was kind, and he eventually regained consciousness.

Sitting by his bedside, Li Shuang reflected on the past few days. She glanced at Jin'an, seeing him drifting back into a daze. She stood up intending to fetch some water, but as soon as she moved, Jin'an immediately woke up.

"Where are you going?"

It was the first time someone had watched her so closely. Li Shuang found it somewhat amusing. After all, he was the one heavily injured in bed; why did it feel like she was the one who needed to be taken care of?

"I'm going to get some water. Are you thirsty?"

"Are you going to feed me?"

This question... Could he even get up from the bed, given his almost paralyzed state? Li Shuang nodded. "Of course."

"I'm a bit thirsty."

If she didn't offer, would he not be thirsty?

Li Shuang couldn't help but find the situation a bit amusing. She poured some water, then bent down to prop him up, feeding him half a cup of water. "Do you want more?" Jin'an shook his head. She set the cup aside and continued to adjust his blanket as she spoke.

"Today we received news that the incident where you killed two senior generals of the Western Barbarians has been leaked. Although the new king of the Western Barbarians initially intended to suppress this news, it has caused quite a stir within the Western Barbarian court. Your father probably succumbed to the pressure and ordered you not to return to the Western Barbarians. After you recover from your injuries, if you still want to return to the Western Barbarians to be the crown prince, it might be quite difficult."

Jin'an grunted in acknowledgment, showing little emotional fluctuation. Li Shuang smoothed out his blanket and asked, "Once you're healed, what are your plans?"

Jin'an remained silent for a while before replying, "We'll see." His response was somewhat indifferent, causing Li Shuang to fall silent too.

"You should rest a bit more. The wound from my arrow was too deep, too close to your heart. Although you're recovering quickly, you still need more rest."

Jin'an obediently closed his eyes. After a while, when Li Shuang thought he had fallen asleep again, he spoke up, "You don't need to feel guilty. I know you did it to save me."

Li Shuang was stunned by his words. If the previous Jin'an was like a simple and stubborn child, then the current him seemed to have gained more sharpness and wisdom. But things were different now...

The next day, when Jin'an woke up, his body was much better than the previous day. It seemed that waking up from unconsciousness had also restored his former healing abilities. In just one night, he was able to get out of bed and walk around easily.

He leaned against the wall as he stepped out of the room, but Li Shuang was nowhere to be seen. Upon inquiry, he learned that she had gone to the back mountain to gather herbs.

There was a particular herb needed for his treatment that required climbing a steep cliff to collect. Previously, Wu Yin would personally gather these herbs, but now that they were depleted, Li Shuang had taken on the task, as Wu Yin was busy with clan matters.
