This kiss was too lingering, too deep in affection. Li Shuang had no idea when or how to end it, but before she could even begin to worry about how to conclude the long kiss, Jin'an released her.

His warm palm slowly slid down from her cheek, and Jin'an drifted into a drowsy state.

Li Shuang had never pinned a man to a wall and kissed him in her life, and yet this man had fallen asleep like this? Feeling his body temperature gradually return to normal and his body relaxing against hers, Li Shuang didn't know how to respond emotionally. But at least she could catch her breath now.

Li Shuang propped Jin'an's completely limp body against the wall, one hand supporting his waist, the other holding his shoulder, using her shoulder to support his fallen head. "Wu Yin!" she called out, "Come and help carry him before you leave."

"Oh, uh... alright."

As she called out, the two outside seemed to wake up as if from a dream. Unlike Wu Yin, who walked in with a smiling face, Qin Lan stood outside, his expression unclear through the slightly dilapidated door and window of the small room.

Wu Yin entered the room and walked to Jin'an's side, taking the weight of his body along with Li Shuang, and together they lifted him onto the bed. "General Li," Wu Yin smiled as he watched Li Shuang sitting on the bedside wiping Jin'an's sweat, his mouth still smiling, as if the emergency evacuation of the entire sect had never happened, "Soldiers like you are indeed more dominant."

Li Shuang glanced at him. "Instead of gossiping, why don't you call back your disciples?"

"No need." Wu Yin waved his hand. "Who knows what this guy will be like when he wakes up? Sometimes he runs around, sometimes he comes back. It's troublesome. We disciples of the Five Spirit Sect have been living on Nanchang Mountain for generations, and they have their own places to live in the mountains. Besides, it's getting late. How about I send away that wooden guy outside later? It's just you two left in the Five Spirit Sect. General, you can do whatever you want."

Li Shuang felt annoyed, but with Wu Yin's words, her gaze involuntarily glanced at Jin'an's bare chest and the area around his abdomen.

The belt was a bit worn, on the verge of falling off. With her strength, she could easily tear it off with just one finger...

Focus! What was she even thinking about?!

Li Shuang made a conscious effort to suppress her absurd thoughts, fearing she might need a good slap to wake herself up if no one was around.

Though her heart was tumultuous, Li Shuang managed to contain her turbulent emotions. She coldly glanced at Wu Yin. "Go fetch some hot water."

Wu Yin rolled his eyes, finding it rather dull, and left the room. Outside, he saw Qin Lan still standing there. He patted Qin Lan's shoulder. "Let them be alone for a while. Come with me."

Qin Lan didn't move. "Why is he like this?" Although Qin Lan hadn't seen much of Jin'an in the northern frontier, from the few encounters he had with the man, he knew that this black-clad figure, though of unknown origin and formidable strength, was rational. He would still protect Li Shuang. But now, he had completely become a monster.

"You'll hear it from your general when she gets back." Wu Yin pulled him away, and Qin Lan walked away reluctantly. He kept turning back, unable to see the scene inside, but what he saw before that was Li Shuang's profile as she wiped the man's sweat.

Just like any ordinary woman, she cherished and valued the one she loved, gentle and affectionate. Perhaps... even Li Shuang herself didn't know. One day, she might look at someone with such an expression.
