As Jin'an took a step forward, she nervously stepped back. A glance around revealed that everyone from the Five Spirit Gate was the same, their eyes filled with suppressed fear and panic as they looked at him. A woman hugged her child tightly, while a man shielded his wife behind him.

Jin'an, with his acute hearing, could hear the agonizing moans coming from the grass huts around him. Everything around him was telling him that he was a murderer, a terrifying monster.

Before he could react, Li Shuang tightened her grip on his hand.

Looking at Li Shuang, Jin'an unsurprisingly saw his own reflection in her eyes. She was comforting him, caring about his emotions, and understanding his feelings.
