Leaving the cave, the bright moon adorned the sky. Jin'an looked up at the moon, his eyes stinging from the brightness, but the clear breeze accompanied by the moonlight made him feel unusually calm inside, especially while holding Li Shuang's hand...

Suddenly, a clatter shattered the tranquility of the night. Jin'an turned to see a woman dropping a pottery jar in front of him and Li Shuang. She stood there dumbfounded, too scared to pick it up, her eyes filled with fear as she looked at Jin'an.

As Jin'an took a step forward, she nervously stepped back. A glance around revealed that everyone from the Five Spirit Gate was the same, their eyes filled with suppressed fear and panic as they looked at him. A woman hugged her child tightly, while a man shielded his wife behind him.

Jin'an, with his acute hearing, could hear the agonizing moans coming from the grass huts around him. Everything around him was telling him that he was a murderer, a terrifying monster.

Before he could react, Li Shuang tightened her grip on his hand.

Looking at Li Shuang, Jin'an unsurprisingly saw his own reflection in her eyes. She was comforting him, caring about his emotions, and understanding his feelings. Softening his gaze, he realized he wasn't as fragile as he might seem. He could bear all the sins he had committed and withstand all the suspicions, doubts, and hostilities from others. Li Shuang's care allowed him to blossom even in the midst of an icy hell.

"All right, all right," Witcher clapped his hands nearby. "Our clan's Jade Silkworm Gu is completely tamed, and his emotions have stabilized. You can all rest assured now." He spoke, and although some remained wary, the hostility in their eyes diminished significantly.

Witcher went to inform a few elders to come to his room for a meeting. Li Shuang and Jin'an were led to a slightly secluded place where they were given a wooden house. "The conditions here in the Five Spirit Gate are like this. The life of our people is no different from that of ordinary mountain folk. General Li's status is honorable, but she'll have to endure some hardships."

Despite the poor conditions, it wasn't as bad as during military campaigns. Li Shuang didn't mind, but...

"One room?" Li Shuang stepped inside, glanced around, and saw no partition screens, only a table, a cabinet, and a bed.

"Just one bed?" She turned to look at Witcher.

Witcher nodded, "Yeah, the room is so small, having such a big bed is already good. Other clan members sleep in small beds."

"Then..."

"You're not planning to sleep separately from the Jade Silkworm Gu, are you?" Witcher cut off Li Shuang's words, his question so direct and natural that it left Li Shuang momentarily stunned. And his question made Jin'an stare at her intently, his eyes almost repeating Witcher's words — you're not planning to sleep separately from me, are you?

How... shouldn't they sleep separately? It felt as if her desire to sleep separately was somehow unreasonable.

"The Jade Silkworm Gu has just calmed down. It's best for him to have continuous contact with his master. The master's presence is the best comfort for him," Witcher explained. "In my opinion, our Jade Silkworm Gu..."

"His name is Jin'an," Li Shuang interrupted Witcher.

Witcher nodded, "All right, all right. In my opinion, our Jin'an, the reason he turns into a child during the day and an adult at night is probably because his body and the Jade Silkworm Gu haven't fully merged yet. The master's presence can help the Jade Silkworm Gu and the Gu person merge faster. After complete integration, there won't be any more size-changing situations." Witcher stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Actually, hugging, kissing, and more intimate contact would be even better..."
