"Enter the palace? Good, the Emperor forced her to death, then I will go and kill your Emperor."

Everyone present was shocked to see him look somewhat mad. The Qinglong Guards drew their swords one after another, but Jin'an didn't even glance at them. He disarmed the long sword from the waist of the Qinglong Guard leader with one hand, then tossed him away like trash.

He strode towards the direction of the palace. The Qinglong Guards were unwilling to let him leave. The leader struggled to get up and gave the order. The Qinglong Guards swarmed towards Jin'an.

Amidst the flashing blades and shadows of swords, Jin'an didn't protect himself half as much as he protected the coffin behind him. Though formidable, the coffin was large, and there were many opponents. There were inevitably some vulnerabilities, but he would rather use his body to shield it, ensuring not even a scratch marred the coffin.

They marched and slew their way from the dense forest to the outskirts of the city. The drizzling rain grew heavier as the battle intensified. As they neared the main road, the number of guards increased. Through the curtain of rain, it seemed as though he stood alone, facing a thousand soldiers.

The coffin was stained crimson, whether from his blood or the blood of the Qinglong Guards, no one could tell. Corpses littered the ground, and the sinister aura emanating from him made the surrounding guards hesitant to act rashly. They formed a circle around him, moving slowly, following his footsteps.

"He's gone mad."

"He's possessed."

"...Must be a demon!"

Amidst the sound of rain, whispers emerged from unknown places, intertwining with the raindrops, enveloping him. As they watched more soldiers gather in front of them, suddenly, there was the sound of flutes in the distance. From the muddy soil, faint rustling sounds arose, and in the blink of an eye, countless black insects crawled out of the ground!

The black insects swarmed out, crawling towards the soldiers nearby. Panic erupted among the crowd as they frantically tried to rid themselves of the insects crawling over them, but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't drive them all away.

"Do not let him escape!" The leader of the Qinglong Guard activated his internal energy, shattering the swarming insects crawling towards him. He then grabbed the soldier's sword at his side, leaped into the air, and slashed towards Jin'an.

Jin'an raised his sword to meet the attack. With a single strike, the leader of the Qinglong Guard was directly pushed back by the force, retreating several yards before stopping. His injured sword snapped in half with a click as he just regained his footing.

The onlookers were all amazed by Jin'an's strength, but the Qinglong Guards, being the royal guards, had their own pride and determination. Following their leader's example, they used their internal energy to drive away the dark insects and once again surged forward.

The scene was chaotic, with fierce fighting and confusion, blood and flesh mingling, as if the rainwater from the sky could be tainted blood-red.

Meanwhile, the soldiers from the general's mansion, who had originally come to escort the deceased, remained standing quietly in a slightly elevated grove by the roadside, silently observing the battle. Li Ting rubbed his eyes, unable to bear watching. "A-jie must not wish for this."

Luo Teng watched, his hand grasping his head. "This man and the general..."

Qin Lan remained silent, simply casting a glance to the side. Among the soldiers, a figure of small stature, like the others, wore a bamboo hat and black clothes, concealing his face. While everyone's attention was focused on the ongoing battle, he quietly disappeared from sight.
