Lexie's POV

The nurses are on strike and because of the chaos that's currently at the hospital, I'm watching over Cordelia. Cordelia and I are at a small diner waiting for Mark because he was coming to eat breakfast with us.

"So have you watched any of the movies that we got you for Christmas?"

"I watched Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid at least twenty times. The other ones I have only watched once. You are not supposed to be kissing people without permission and the princess did that. True Love my baby butt." Cordelia signs and I couldn't help but smile.

"Snow White and Sleeping Beauty tend to be like that. Did you like Aladdin?"

"Aladdin was one of my favourites along with the others I listed before and The Sword in the Stone. Yes the Beast kept Belle in the castle, but she went in her father's place because he was older and may not have survived." Cordelia signs when Mark walks over to our table and sits down beside me.

"So what are we talking about?" Mark asks when a waiter comes to take our order before leaving.

"Talking about how some Disney movies don't understand the concept of consent."

"Which ones?" Mark asks us.

"Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. I am sure there is more but those are the only ones that crossed my mind right now. Can we get some coffee and donuts for the nurses?" Cordelia signs when our food comes.

"Yeah we can sunshine." Mark says with a smile before we all begin eating our food.

Meredith's POV

"What are we doing?" I asked most of my friends as I walk over to where they were. Dr. Bailey is starting her maternity leave today and now we have to deal with a new resident.

"Trying to figure out who they're going to pick for Bailey's replacement." Claire tells me.

"Yang, Stevens, Grey, O'Malley, Robbins, Karev!" A loud voice yells out, causing us to look over and see a female resident by the stairs.

"Here you are! I was looking for you guys in the locker room but you weren't there and then I realized that you were probably looking for me and here you are! You guys look like a great group." The woman says before hugging Claire who was surprised at the gesture before walking back over to us.

"I'm Sydney Heron. Fourth Year and my philosophy just so you know is um is healed with love. Okay, so wonderful. So, Alex, Claire, Izzie, Meredith, Cristina and our little group is just missing.." Sydney starts to say.

"O'Malley. Yeah he's cowering behind the strike line like a little girl." Cristina says.

"Standing up for what he believes in, that's my kind of little girl. Right? So ... The ER needs somebody down there for a consult, does anybody ... who wants to ..." Sydney starts to say before everyone else but Claire, Izzie, Sydney and I were left standing.

"Meredith and I have patients to see." Claire says before the two of us walked away from Sydney and Izzie.

"Something is on your mind." Claire notes.

"Yeah. Saw my mom at the nursing home with Webber. They were acting like lovers and I had to get the hell out of there before they saw me."

"Damn. You don't want Cordelia to know. I'll keep your secret Mer." Claire tells me with a smile.

"Thanks. But Cordelia was also there and she already figured it out for herself."

"Oh I get it. Go ahead and see Addie. I'll roam the halls for a case." Claire tells me before walking away.

Addison's POV

Meredith and I are performing an ultrasound on a young teenage girl named Cheyenne Wood. Her mother Monica Wood was also there sitting on a chair next to the examination table.

"Is that too much?" Cheyenne asks us.

"It's a lot of extra amniotic fluid Cheyenne but your baby looks strong." Meredith explains.

"Does that mean we can go? I mean appreciate you seeing us, I really do but this is a long drive for us and I can't afford to miss another shift." Monica asks me.

"Unfortunately Miss. Wood the mass on the baby's neck is what's causing the build up in fluid. It's also obstructing her airway and spine. We're going to do a procedure called an exit surgery. Basically we do a C-section and only half deliver the baby."

"Half delivered?" Cheyenne asks me with a raised eyebrow.

"That's right. We pull the head and arms out but we don't cut the umbilical cord."

"Why?" Cheyenne asks us.

"The tumour won't let air get to the baby's lungs. So we need the umbilical cord to keep her alive during the operation. It's kinda cool if you think about it. You'll be like your baby's life support machine. And then after the surgery if all goes well, we cut the umbilical cord and you'll be the mother of a healthy baby girl. How does that sound?" Meredith says and Cheyenne instantly looks relieved.

"That sounds expensive." Monica tells us.

"Well your doctor at the clinic is a former student of mine, so it's covered. I'm going to go head up and take this to the lab." I tell everyone before leaving the room and bumped into Mabel.

"Hey do you have time to help me out with a patient?" Mabel takes the file from my hands and reads it quickly before looking at me.

"Yeah I'll help." Mabel says with a smile.

"Thanks. I owe you one."
