Chapter-38

It was almost 3 in the morning when Ranvijay reached back to the palace, tired and sleepy after completing his task in the office. His eyes were puffy, dark circles and were also red as he spent the whole night scanning documents and going through a pile of files. He spent all this time sitting on his office chair going through different documents, checking each and everything over and over again by himself to confirm whether there is an actual error or not in the records.

At that moment, he really wished that he had not sent Vikram to France for the meeting so that he had been here to help him with this unexpected issue.

"Khama Ghani, hukum,"

One of the guards said, who was doing his night duty on the palace gate, as he saw Ranvijay car stopping inside the door and walked ahead to open the car door for him to come out.

Ranvijay, being tired, just hummed lowly nodding his head and walked directly towards his room with the thought of freshening up as quickly as possible and go back to his work.

He had to visit the hotels today and look after it's working and then continue further with his listed schedule of the day. Even though, Virendra Singh Rathore, his kaku sa is the one who handles the hotels which are under the Rathore group – after Narendra Singh Rathore had given up on all of it for his political works – yet Ranvijay always visits them twice or sometimes thrice every month. And it isn't something new for him, handling a billion dollar company as well as a chain of hotels all together often gets stressful.

Sighing, he reached his chamber hoping to be meet by the darkness but instead as soon as he entered inside, opposite to what he expected, the lights were on. And much to his surprise, Disha was sitting on the couch in the resting area of the chamber, leaning back on it. Her eyes were closed, her earpods still on as well as the laptop that was placed in front of her on the table. She was sitting there completely unaware of his presence probably because of the earphones or she would have been attentive by now had she felt his presence.

Ranvijay's eyes shifted to the oak brown antique clock which was hanging on the wall as he noticed the time. The frown which was already present on his face deepend even further as he looked back at Disha, different questions running through his mind when he realised the time.

Without making any kind of sound which will disturb her sleep, he walked slowly and sat besides her at a suitable distance. His gaze turned away from her face towards the laptop where the screen was open already and some kind of presentation was going on. He furrowed his brows, confusion lacing over his tired face as he started to observe the slides going on infront of his eyes one after another reading each of the words carefully. On reaching the end of the presentation, his face was filled with surprise as he failed to react on the new found information of the lady who was sitting besides him unaffected by anything going on in the room.
