Prodigal son

Leonardo had come back to New York City as soon as he could, when the Ancient One had informed him that his family was in great peril...

He found no one in the destruction of what used to be their home, now an empty tomb... he would have to look elsewhere. Survive
the Foot-clan security left behind for him, learn his family may have been killed by Karai... could he really not save the only family he had?

No.

He knew it was a lie, of course.

Karai always lies.

Especially to him...
Getting beneath his scales like a bug...
Leonardo shivered.

And when he traversed what was left, he found the missing puzzle pieces that had been left behind, and was able to put them together.
He could find out where his family was!

He found his Father and Donatello. But they needed to safe place to stay and rest. So Leonardo conveniently found some blocked off area of the sewer that would work, it was an early pump for the city's reservoir, according to Donatello. And that was a ninja who knew his stuff!

Now all that was left to do was to find his other two brothers...

"Leo! Am I glad to see you, you wouldn't believe what happened. I dunno if the others-"

"It's ok Raph. I found them, everyone is ok... promise."

I felt groggy. But I lifted my head anyway. I didn't go asleep. I was scared too. Especially with the voice in the back of my head starting. And it only got louder and more persistent. But Klunk kept me awake by kneading into my sensitive scales- kinda hurt actually, he was a strong little fella.

"Huh... Leo? Leo! Hey!"
I was overjoyed to see Leo! The yin to my yang! The moon to my sun! My totally radical brother!
I jumped onto him in a hug and he hugged me back with a small woah and some light laughter. He must not have known what's happened yet- but he definitely will soon... so I'll savor the moment while it lasts!

Leo is comforting. And for a reptilian, he seems pretty warm.
"Hey Mikey... I see you guys made it out safely?"
"Mhmm.."

Leo seems to feel better after his trip to Japan after all... He pulls away and I guess there's no use in standing around.
"Come on, let's get back to the others."

And so we do, to everyone's delight. And I'm not the only one to notice that Leo is acting- well, he's acting more like Leo! That's for sure.

Leo leaves and comes back with food like he promised he would- and suggests the great idea that this place could be our new home!

And now comes the great time where we all sit down and discuss as a family how I almost murdered my father and might be possessed by an alien! Fabuloso, am I right? We all have that special time in our life when that exact
Scenario happens..

I slurp up some noodles as Sensei and Leo reunite, and Donatello breaks the tension with a loud cough.
"So... Michelangelo?"
I turn my head to him, and answer. A mouth full of food.
"Yeah?"

I am pretty hungry. And in a way I guess I am eating for two, not because im pregnant or anything, But because I'm possessed by
The Utrom Shredder. Obviously. Donatello gives me a look. He knows I know. Everyone here knows except for Leonardo. But he will know soon...
"What was that whole song and dance you did earlier about being The Shredder where you almost killed father!?"

At Donatello's words, Leonardo slowly turns to stare at me in horror as if I'm a big green mutant or something! Wait-... But yeah, Guess I do need to explain myself to everyone who isn't Raphael.
"Aha, well that's the thing bro, It wasn't me talking! That really was The Shredder!"

They didn't look like they were buying it. Especially Donnie.
"Really? The Shredder? How, we saw that it was you!?"
Good point, he was in my body... Master Splinter held out his hand and suddenly spoke.
"I do sense a presence of darkness inside you that did not inhabit your spirit before, Michelangelo. As if some sort of evil really has entangled your body, soul, and mind."

Sensei stroked his beard and looked at me. And maybe it was his special dad powers, because I suddenly felt like I should start babbling again.
"Y-yeah! I was out in the sewers hearing weird stuff when I passed out! When I woke up again, I wasn't able to control my body or anything! I was just watching someone else play pilot, Aka Ch'rell... And I only got control back after Raph knocked me out."

I felt all eyes on me, it was making me want to melt into a puddle. I felt cornered by hungry watch-dogs with flashlights for eyes! Creepy.
"If what you say is true, this is a most troubling possession.."

I look back again to my father. Possession. Yeah... like how those demons in the movies do? Im gonna start spinning my head around and crawling on the walls! I am so not ready!
"Really Master Splinter, a possession? Are you sure Michelangelo didn't just have a
mental break or something?"
Donatello interposed, of course he did.

I looked around the room. Everything seemed muffled. Donatello and Sensei were discussing. Klunk was eating. Raph was sitting there. And so was Leo. Leo seemed all deep in thought, probably about me.

"Please... You guys have to know I would never hurt Master Splinter-"
My voice audibly cracked- even I could hear it. My throat burned, it felt a bit too hard to speak. I was gonna cry, wasn't I? The more I held back my watery eyes, the more and more I ached and burned.

I looked to Master Splinter, and he had the familiar golden glimmer of warm compassion in his eyes. And it just makes the feeling worse. I would never want to hurt him.
"Dad... I'm sorry."
I cover my eyes and clench my teeth. I can feel Klunk rub against my side, I guess he can sense that I'm feeling down.

A warm hand clutched my shoulder and I looked up to see my father. He opens his mouth to talk but- I feel my entire body feel as if it's growing faint and far apart, like I'm a dim lightbulb. Finally going dead and dark. By his expression swift, I think my father notices the way my eyes go empty...

I grabbed the sides of my head, trying to not let the other half in my mind consume me. Control me. I was shaking and everything felt like i was completely disconnected from the world around me at the moment.

"No- no just quit it!"
I jumped up from where I was, throwing a smoke bomb down, and disappearing from sight.
