Later that night, after dinner, mum pulled me aside.

"Max, I don't want to worry you, but Nino sent me a letter this morning. If I don't give you and Flock up, they'll kill you." she told me. I frowned. They just couldn't stay away, could they?

"Alright. The flock and I will sneak out tonight. Will you and Ella be okay?" I asked. I had just found my family again, and now I had to leave. There was no denying it. She nodded. I wasn't fully convinced that she would be fine but I knew should wouldn't tell me otherwise, so I went to go and sit down again, but mum stopped me.

"Max? Go take a shower. There's shampoo and soap in there for you to use." I reluctantly nodded. I ran up the stairs, and ran myself a relaxing, hot, clean shower.

After my shower, I went back down to the living room and broke the news the flock. They grumbled in dismay as they gathered their belongings. Mum set to work cooking some long lasting food for us to take on the trip. She gave us some clothes that she had found too. The flock took showers, and then, most of them went to bed. Fang, Iggy and I were the only ones who decided to stay awake. Mum was still cooking.

Don't want you going hungry, she had said. I think hunger would be the least of our problems.

"Well doesn't this suck." Iggy said. Fang nodded.

"I'm nodding, Iggy." Fang informed.

"I knew we couldn't escape danger. I thought after the apocalypse and death of all mankind, we would be able to live in peace!" I said, annoyed. Fang put his arm around me.

We made small talk until midnight.

"Righto kids! It is now midnight!" Mum said. I smiled.

"Fang, go wake the others. Iggy, you help mum collect everything. I'm going to find some weapons." I said. It probably wasn't the best timing. I should've thought of it earlier.

After doing two laps of the house, without any luck, I gave up. The flock gathered in the kitchen. We handed out bags.

"Angel, take the bag of spare clothes, Nudge take the bag of toiletries, Gazzy, Iggy, you have your bag full of bombs?" I asked. Iggy and Gazzy had made two bags full of smoke bombs, flash bombs and any other type of bomb you can think of. I didn't tell them to make them. I just hope the bombs are reasonably safe. Iggy and Gazzy nodded.

"Okay. I'll take the bag of food and Fang you keep lookout while we fly. Lets go home!" I said. Home was the place we stayed in for the majority of our lives, before Erasers and being on the run, and countless times of almost dying.

Phoenix took my hand. I bent down and gave her a big hug.

"It'll be okay." I whispered. She nodded, her curls tickling my neck.

We hugged my mum and thanked her for everything. I left Ella a note. I'm pretty sure Iggy did too. Ella would be so upset that we left without saying goodbye.

We walked out into the cold night, and leapt into the air. My 15 foot wings beat powerfully in the air.

We were going where it all started.
