We only continued to stare at each other. My weapon and his are both ancient. Difference is, I am staring down at him from an ancient warmachine capable of ending armies, whilst he stares up at me through the sights of his truly ancient weapon of wood, steel, and taut ropes. "Please." I pleaded to the man with gentleness. Nothing happens. I only stood still on the spot since I did not want to provoke the man any further. I know that he has no chances of killing me but I cannot risk harm to my companion. If I were to slay him and if the news of me slaying an innocent man were to spread around civilization; then I would be relentlessly hunted down, like a dangerous being of destruction. Which I am not. If anything, I would want to make sure that the man would live to see the day so that he may spread my reputation as a friendly being who doesn't wish to bring harm to anyone. Unless they deserve it of course. This is the most optimal way to continue, now if only he would stand down with his weapon. He continues to look at me with the crossbow at the ready, his face scrunched along with the squinted eyes that says: "I don't believe you!" The woman gave me an understanding look in her eyes. She visibly sighed as her shoulders relaxed simultaneously in sync with her sigh. The woman turn around and approached the man. Her left hand was gently laid onto his shoulder. The man turns to look at her in disbelief while his mouth utters something that the sensors cannot pick up due to how quiet it must've been whispered. The woman nods at him. He sighs visibly as he finally relaxed his arm, letting the crossbow hang from his limp arms. "Good." I said with relief as the breath that was unknowingly being held in, was finally released. But not all things went to plan, as Alice suddenly jumped down without my permission. 'Alice!" She paid my call no mind as she slowly walked towards the group.
Both of them suddenly prostated themselves when my infuriating furry-companion-cat-witch-thing slowly approached them, her tail swishing left and right. Her yellow fur glistens under
Chaosbane's lights as she lowers the hood of her robe. They suddenly started to yell desperately while they pressed their foreheads harder into the ground.
"FORGIVE US! WE FILTHY HUMANS DIDN'T MEAN TO RAISE OUR WEAPONS AGAINST YOU!" What? Why are they begging? Hold on. "Was then persecuted for petty crimes..." I thought to myself. Then I recited that statement in my mind, slowly. She mentioned that she did a crime when she was recounting her experience in civilized society. She said it was nothing serious, but what if she is hiding it because it is that evil? That could explain on why they are so terrified and are probably begging as if their life is on the line. Wait... what is Alice planning to do to them? No... NO! That feline bastard! Liar! Criminal! I will not let you harm them! She is already too close to them which prevents the use of explosive armaments. That makes the autocannons and the battlecannon useless. Chainsword? Foolish! Aha! The heavy stubber! I can still use it! Alice, I am sorry that it has to be this way but I will atleast ensure that your death shall be quick and free of suffering. There is a clear flight path for the bolt shell to reach her head accurately. It will take approximately <0.009 seconds for the bolt shell to reach her cranium. Firing in 3... 2... "Why are you kneeling? There's no need for any of that." Wait... That doesn't sound like a possible threat from a murderous psychopath. She offers her paw towards the man as to give him assistance in standing up. The man only looks at the furred paw with fear on his face before finally grasping it. "Thank you, for sparing us." The man says to Alice she did the same thing to the woman. "No problemo mi amigo!" Both the man and me only stared at the undecipherable response from her.
The woman only laughed softly at what Alice said as she placed her left hand fingers onto her lips. "Hehehe!" The woman giggles at her unintelligible words since it was rather nonsensical whilst also sounding nonsensical at the same time. I am glad that things did not go the way that I was thinking it would go. It was a good thing to evaluate her first instead of firing first, She could have possibly died. And it would been my fault. She showed me an act of compassion not too long ago and this, this is how you thank her? Why? No answer came forth from the depths of my mind since I knew that what I did was unexcusable. I, am supposed to be a protector. Yet I was more than willing to shoot my one and only friend. Traitor. You are no better than the bastard rival Houses that set up House Phaeron for that ambush. Remember what Chaosbane said. Remember that you should've died along with them. You do not deserve to live whilst they all died. "Luke! Come introduce yourself to them!" Alice yells at me from a distance unaware that I was readying myself to end her where she stood. But her compassionate self showed me who she truly was. And that is a friend, and for that I have nothing but gratitude for her.
