I was all but 14 at the time of my family and I moving to Sneedville Tennessee and I knew nobody. I felt out of place with not many friends. My nights were lonely and boring sitting in my room with nothing to do.

Not to mention my dad had an alcohol problem so it was often he came home angry with me and my mom.

"Hey, you new here?" A tall brunette guy walks up to her, cowboy boots clicking the floor and his baby blue eyes meet hers. "Yeah I am, I'm Scarlett" she spoke softly and shyly.

"Morgan, nice to meet you" He said with a smile as he sat down next to her. His smile was contagious enough to spread to Scarlett but she quickly covers her mouth due to her insecurity of her braces.

She tried to act cool and didn't show her funny side since she didn't want to embarrass herself in front of him especially since guys Didn't talk to her.

"So how'd you end up in sneedville?"

"My mom had a new job here, so we just moved from Kentucky"

"Nice, you like baseball?" Baseball was always the icebreaker he used in conversation especially since he loved it so much.

"I do, who's your favorite team?"

"Vols" they both said simultaneously.

"Me and you are gonna get along great then" He says with a smiling laugh.

She shoots him a grin before getting up to go to her next class. "Cya around, Morgan"

"Bye Scarlett"

She made her way to class bumping into a group of girls, these girls were the better than everyone or at least that's what they thought.

"I'm so sorry I didn't mean to" Scarlett apologized and helped pick up the book she made her drop.

"Watch where your going brace face, this is our turf not yours" She girl snapped making Scarlett quite nervous.

"Why don't we beat her ass? That'll teach her"

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to I-" Scarlett whimpers nervously backing against a locker.

The girls pin her to the locker and cover her face in lipstick.

"Leave her alone" A familiar voice says.

"Your friends with this loser? Pathetic"

"I said leave" His face stone cold as he watched them walk away. Scarlett's face covered in tears as she stood in embarrassment.

"You ok? Did they hurt you?" He asks placing his strong hand on her shoulder.

"I'm, I'm fine" she mutters attempting to wipe the lipstick from her face.

He takes his hoodie sleeve and wipes her face from all the tears and lipstick and shooting her a grin as he walks away.

All she could do was smile, no one had ever treated her like this before.

The summer breeze blows through the air as laughter erupts from the lake. Everything felt so careless and free it was like we had no responsibility's.

Scarlett and her friend addi lay on the deck chairs while Morgan and their friend micheal were in the water.

A pair of strong arms wrap around Scarlett's waist. "Don't you-" she's cut off by Morgan jumping in the water with her his hands lingering around her waist as they float.

"My hair! I told you I didn't want it wet Morgan!" She argues while breaking away from him and swimming back to the dock.

"Calm down and enjoy your summer we only get this freedom a few months a year" he says with that contagious smile.

Morgan was always getting Scarlett into trouble but she needed him.

Scarlett walks into art class, her least favorite class. But Morgan was in it so that made things better. She walks in and Morgan motions for her patting the seat next to him.

"I saved your spot" He says greeting her with that little grin and head tilt that he always did.

"Lovely, I'm so glad to be in mrs greens class" She says sarcastically as she rolls her eyes.

"Bitch" Morgan mumbles underneath his breath.

Mrs green hated Scarlett and Morgan since they always acted up in her class, writing curse words on their paper and making jokes about her raccoon looking wig.

"Hah, oh shoot" Scarlett says as Mrs green walks over to them. She grabs the paper and reads it in front of the class.

"How deep? What?" She reads. "BALLS DEEP!" Morgan shouts making himself and Scarlett crack up.

"MORGAN! SCARLETT! OUT NOW!" Mrs green yells and they both walk out.

Morgan leans his back against a locker and Scarlett stands next to him. He all of the sudden bursts out in laughter but Scarlett didn't think it was too funny.

"Morgan, I'm gonna be in so much trouble" Scarlett anxiously mutters running her fingers through her long blonde hair.

"You'll be fine, I'll take the blame" Morgan replies still chuckling. He shoots her that crooked grin and scruffs her hair as they walk to the principals office.

Scarlett nervously plays with her rings and her leg shakes waiting on their punishment. "Listen, I'm letting y'all off the hook for now but do it again and your suspended" the principle explains Both Morgan and Scarlett nod.

"So this is how your leaving me? Just like this your gonna leave.." Scarlett shouts as she sobs.

"Listen I don't wanna leave you scar, but it's my career I love you" Morgan says attempting to hug her. She pulls away and storms inside balling her eyes out in the corner.

It hurt morgans heart leaving but he knew he needed to. "Why would he leave me like this..." Scarlett whispers through sobs of hurt and betrayal.

Morgan arrives In Nashville and attempts to call Scarlett to no answer. "Cmon pick up scar" He mumbles under his breath rubbing the back of his neck as he calls again.

"You good man?" Micheal asks. "Just, scar she won't pick up, I pissed her off" Morgan replies hanging his head low in guilt from leaving her.

"I think you hurt her more than you pissed her off, That girl needed you Morgan" Micheal said. Morgan's heart was immediately filled with regret and sadness thinking about Scarlett.

It was too late he lost her she was no longer an option for him anymore and it was his fault.
