Author's POV:-
Ian's eyes fluttered open, the world around him slowly coming into focus. He blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the bright sunlight filtering through the trees. The air smelled different, fresher, and the sounds of nature were more pronounced. He was no longer in the forest clearing of the present; he was in the past, the year 1868.
Before him stood a group of wide-eyed children, their faces full of curiosity and wonder. They were dressed in simple, homespun clothing, and their hands clutched baskets filled with various herbs and plants. Ian realized they were here to learn, looking up at him expectantly.
"Master Ian, what shall we learn about today?" one of the braver children asked, a little girl with a bright smile and dirt-smudged cheeks.Ian's heart raced as he took in the scene. He had done it. They had done it. The spell had worked. He glanced around, recognizing the familiar surroundings of the old village where he used to teach the local children about herbs and healing. His mind raced as he tried to remember the specifics of this time period.
"Today," Ian began, his voice surprisingly steady, "we'll learn about the healing properties of rosemary and sage." He picked up the sprig of rosemary he had brought from the present, marveling at how seamlessly it fit into this world. The children gathered closer, eager to hear his words.
