Ian's POV:-
I couldn't sleep the whole night. I lay there, staring at the ceiling, my mind a storm of memories and emotions. Why did I sacrifice my entire life just to protect May?
It wasn't just because her mother saved me once. No, she didn't merely save me; she raised me. She took in a broken, lost boy and nurtured him with a love and care I had never known.
She made me capable, strong, and taught me values that shaped the person I am today.
But was that truly the reason I devoted myself to protecting May? I turned over in bed, trying to find solace in the familiar surroundings of my room.

Thinking about her mother, my mind drifted back to spring long ago, a time when I was happiest working spells with May's mother.
I don't remember the exact topic of our conversation, but one moment stood out vividly. As we worked together, weaving magic with our hands, she paused and looked at me with those wise, knowing eyes.
"Ian," she asked softly, "if anything happens to me, would you protect May?" Of course I will" i answered,
"How far will you go?" She asked
The question caught me off guard. I had never really thought about it in those terms. My bond with May had always been natural, instinctive. I didn't know what to say,
so I replied, "I'll know when the time comes."
In the present, as an immortal, I find myself here protecting May, just as I had vowed.
