The next morning may was stirring her tea in the dim morning light that filtered through the small window of her hut. When she heard a polite knock at the door.

It was a sound that struck her as usually formal for their current circumstances. She couldn't help but wonder who would be knocking like that at this early hour.

When she opened the door she met with Noah's familiar face but something was unmistakably different. His posture was erect, his movements were precise, and his attire- though not quite tailored suit from the 1800s----- had a refinement to it that suggested he had stepped out of another era. He's gaze held a gravity that was far removed from the casual modern demeanor she was used to.

"May," he greeted her softly, his voice low so as not to attract any unwanted attention. "May I come in?"

She nodded, stepping aside to let him enter. Once inside, Noah glanced around, taking in the sparse interior of the hut. He seemed out of place here, his presence a stark contrast to the humble surroundings.

"I'm sorry for what happened last night," he began, turning to face her. "I had to make sure no one suspected anything. If anyone realized we were from the future..."

"I understand," May interrupted, her voice steady but tired. "I was going to find Ian, We need to talk about our next plan."

Noah's face softened, but there was a hint of sadness in his eyes. "I understand, but you should have told me. We're all in this together."

May looked away, feeling a pang of guilt. "I know, Noah. But in this timeline, you're the young prince. I couldn't just walk up to you in the palace. There was no way I could have met you without drawing attention."

Noah sighed, understanding the truth of her words but unable to shake his worry. "What if something happened to you, May? The thought of you out there, alone... it makes me worry"

His words hung in the air, and for a moment, the gravity of their situation pressed down on both of them

His words hung in the air, and for a moment, the gravity of their situation pressed down on both of them. Before May could respond, Noah stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a tight embrace. She felt the warmth of his body, the steady beat of his heart, and the depth of his emotions. He loved her, deeply and genuinely.
